San Diego City College

There are two main public transportation modes dedicated to helping SDCC students get around. The first is the bus system, which is closest with the numerous stops that dot the outside of the campus. This is many students’ go-to transportation for getting around the city. The City College light rail trolley stop is a five minute walk from campus, and has two trolley lines (Downtown and Lemon Grove) that run through it. This is a surprisingly extensive transit system, as it runs from San Ysidro on the Mexican border to Santee north of San Diego. Sure, SDCC’s campus is smaller than USD’s or SDSU’s, but it makes up for it with its superb location. Why settle for a traditional college campus when you can have Balboa Park in your backyard instead? That’s right, SDCC is located on Park Boulevard, and is a five minute walk from Balboa. The most famous park in the city have over a thousand acres of recreational space, the best zoo in the country, museums, theaters, and plenty of space for students to hang out with friends. Even better, downtown San Diego is a ten minute walk from campus, and showcases all the nightlife and culture the city has to offer.
