RUN!!!! 13 month lease: 12 months without working AC... The only reason it wasn't all 13 months is because we paid the rent for this month but moved out the month before. We finally got a new unit after writing a letter to the Corporate Office, but it still didn't work right. The office staff treated like us like we didn't matter, and would rush us out when we tried talking to them with potential renters in the office. Then, for the last month, they just decided to add 3 months worth of water and trash charges because they wanted to be sure our final bills would be paid before the end of our lease instead of sending the bills as they came due. The District Manager did what she could, but Adara Properties is cheap and does not care about it's residents. DO NOT rent here!!! There are cheaper apartments you can find that at least make an attempt to take care of you!!!!

If I could give this place 0 stars I absolutely would. Let's start with how fraudulent this company is. I signed a lease with my boyfriend in May. By June we decided that we only wanted to have the lease in his name, we talked to the staff at the office and they said he qualified to be the sole resident. Great. All we had to do was sign a piece of paper with us both acknowledging that I was being removed from the lease and he was the sole person on the lease. We both signed and turned the form into the office. Then they reprinted the entire lease agreement (over 20 pages), and he signed everything in his name only. Two months later my boyfriend was hospitalized for weeks and ended up losing his job because of it, I approached the office with his mom and told them we needed out of the lease as we had to move in with a family member. They refused to talk to me at all because I was no longer on the lease and that would be a breach of his privacy. When he was finally able to call the office a week later, still in the hospital, he explained everything. They agreed to let us out of the lease without any breaking of the lease charge, all we owed was the last month of rent, close to $700. But wouldn't you know, a couple of months later, him and I received separate bills in the mail saying we each owed over $2k. It's also now on my credit report, having went to collections, and saying we both broke our lease. But that's okay... this is clearly a mistake. So we contact the office just for them to lie to us and say the documents we signed were never legal and that I was still on the lease, hence why they billed me. We asked why they wouldn't talk to me when he was in the hospital if I was "still on the lease" and how he could have signed the lease agreement in his name only and this still be possible. They didn't know... lost the paper work... not their fault, blah blah blah. We ask to talk to a manager and they take down our number and said the manager will call us. Never happened. I called twice a week for a month to talk to a manager, could never get through. We stopped by the office, still no one would talk to us. My boyfriend began calling them daily demanding to talk to a manager and after about two weeks they stopped answering the phone when his number called. Must of blocked his number. It is now on both of credit reports and we were lied to, they clearly just wanted a way to get more money out of the BOTH of us. Now let me get into the maintenance problems. They never put the thing under our bathtub, so the first time using it, our two story apartment flooded and ruined pictures and our printer and desk. It took them hours to come and stop the flooding. This later happened again and our bottom floor flooded an entire inch, we were afraid of getting electrocuted. Fans broke, locks, blinds, you name it. We had maintenance in there always, but only weeks after we would put in the work order. Oh, and after calling the headquarters, Adara, we are still playing the game of, "the manager will call you back" trying to resolve this problem. Same game I played for the last six months with Northgate Village. At this point I have a lawyer and am suing for the charges they have against me and my credit since I legally was no longer a resident. And my boyfriend is suing for breach of privacy. We also have filed a BBB complaint. But I'll let my lawyers take care of the rest.

I've lived at this property for a year and a.c. has never worked. I have filed work orders every month and have called management and corporate office several times a month but they never answer my calls and even though i leave a voice mail they never return my calls. When their maintenance guys come over to look at the a.c. they always tell me there's a leak and they are waiting on parts needed to fix problem. The pools are always closed and water is green. Grounds are dirty and there's dog poop everywhere. There's also an issue with the water pipes and water drains slow in the bathtubs. I would NEVER recommend this property to no one.

roaches all up in my apartment so gross they come in from the tiniest of cracks and then the kids who must live in the area always messing with my dog when he's on the patio throwing rocks and sticks and stuff at him and one time very recent those kids kicked a ball at my window and cracked it if I get charged for that ill be pissed because it wasn't my fault i will be gone soon. there's only 2 maintience guys who are friendly in my book always trying to have a pleasent conversation with you or just say good morning and they are the ones I prefer to fix something when I need it because I know they'll do it right( both are the heavy set guys, very nice always and professional)

I've been here over a year. The showers never work right, we've had the spouts and handles replaced in both and they still leak water out of the spouts (a significant amount) when using the shower ! I hear this is common here. There seems to be a water pipe issue too, albeit the property didn't install the underground pipes, once the issue is fixed....the holes start sinking/caving in...I fear this whole property will be a huge sink hole. They need to consider using licensed quality plumbers. The water has been shut off 5 or 6 times since I've been here! Both pools were gross and green the hottest months of the summer last year (closed). We were told it was because property management changed and they couldn't get chemicals. Seriously? Literally the only amenity this community has is the pools. And then we didn't. And then there is my freezer. It started making an extremely loud noise one night. So loud that my sister and I came out of our rooms at the same time to figure out what it was. I reported it in October 2017. Eventually someone came in while we were out. And left a slip, no mention if they fixed it. They fixed one messed up shower reported, but not the other. So, I video recorded the freezer, went to the office and played it for them and took the maintenance slip to them. They called me saying they were waiting for parts.....come January 2018, after calling every couple weeks, another person entered our apt leaving a slip saying it was fixed. The first thing I heard when I walked in was the stupid freezer fan. So, I call. Got told they are waiting for parts. , isn't that what they said last year, and the note said it was "fixed"? but...here we are at February 15, 2018. Not fixed, not asking again. We're done. I will say, most of the staff is friendly, and not most of their fault they are put in this situation. But I'd rather be told the truth.

Ive never written a review but then again Ive never had such a horrible experience. First, the building I live in is infested with roaches. Theyre in every room. Once a week I deep clean and the more I move stuff to clean, the more they pop out. Ive told the office to have pest control to come spray inside and they never showed. There has not gone one day that I havent seen a roach crawling up my wall. Its gotten so bad that as soon as I turn away from the stove from cooking, theres already one in the pan on my food! Second, the sewer has backed up into my tub and toilet 4 times since I moved in, in January. Called the first time it happened and no one came. I had to wait until it went back down and cleaned EVERYTHING. I came home after thanksgiving and my tub was black from the sewer, so was my toilet. Just last night, it started again, now it went all the way to my bedroom closet, the carpet is soaked. Maintenance came and stopped it from flooding anymore, but they didnt even bother to clean anything up. Its literally poop thats all over my floor and closet carpet. Third, theres rats in between the walls, you can hear them running all night long, one was trying to claw their way out of the wall two nights ago. I banged until it got scared and stopped. Told the office about it and no one ever came to check. Oh but youre short 8$ and some change from rent and theyll send you a notice everyday until its paid. Dont move here, they either need to be completely emptied and treated or torn down. Thank god my lease is almost up.

I have been living going on 2 months now and I would not recommend this place to anyone. The apartment itself is okay (except that the grounds itself need major bug treatment and the pool is always a shade nasty green) but the front office people and corporate office are willing to tell prospective residents anything to get you to move in. I was offered several deals to get me to sign, which, as of yet the office staff and corporate has not honored. I made the mistake of not asking them to write it in my contract, so now I'm stuck. Make sure everything they offer is specified on your contract before you sign with these scammers. I have contacted corporate to no avail (just try to tell what I want to hear say they will call back but never do, and it is the same run around with the front office staff that seems to be incompetent or careless, or both, about what they are doing. Because this issue has not be taken care of since I moved in there are late fees that have been accumulating on my account and, therefore, affecting my credit. And again after trying to be patient and visiting the front office about resolving this issue they still give the same run around. DO NOT RENT HERE.

Myself as well as my neighbors all have numerous complaints. I recommend to stay away from this complex. I would not want anyone to endure the many things wrong with this complex as well as the staff. There are several complaints from myself and other tenants about roach and ant infestations, broken pipes, leaks, most AC units constantly breaking and you are left without AC, the police are called to various apts all the time. The staff does not seem to care about any complaints. There numerous fees that are always added on that I would question. The staff enter your apt at any time without authorization. I feel compelled to warn everyone to stay away from this complex. Stay Away!!!! This place has everything constantly breaking and the staff do not seem to care about the tenants or the state of the apartments.

I'm actually a resident at Northgate Village. Per almost three years we've been having the same problem. The air conditioner by some strange reason stop working in summer. Works good until end of the season and then dropped down. However, this year they came to the Top of everything tomorrow we have 8 days without air conditioner in an apartment that is a box and windows can be opened. They're being so neglect over all those days. My husband is a gentleman and isn't a trouble maker. They abuse of their power and I'm pretty sure are them the ones who have 7 days with no sleeping. The administration is resting good on their homes while we're burning up as turkeys in thanksgiving day. Noone came or called us to say nothing, not even an apology. Unbelievable in this country, best of a hottest summer ever. Congratulations Northgate you just lost one of your best customers!

Boilers are always breaking down, this is the third time and I've been here three months. Grounds look trashy and dogs poop all over the place. Needless to say I won't be renewing my lease.

Let me start by saying the staff in the office were really nice for the most part however, this is probably the WORSE apartment I ever lived in. Here is a list of things we encountered while we lived at Northgate for a year: 1. Rolly Polley infestation (yes rolley pollies, the little things you caught as a child... We would wake up to them on our walls) 2. Mold in our bathroom ceiling (maintenance continued to come and paint over it every time it came back until I finally called the headquarter office in Houston) 3. Floods due to the toilet at 1am 4. Leaks from the vent ceiling from the people above us in the bathroom (we had a hole in our bathroom ceiling for months up until we moved out) 5. Air conditioner went out 6. Parking was horrible 7. Stray cats paradise Granted we were in a rush when we found this apartment so we did not do our research. Like I said the staff in the office were nice but they got to go home every night and didn't have to live in that crappy complex. We were so ready to go we moved out as early as we could.

I am currently a resident of Northgate Village and I love it. The maintenance and office personnel is very friendly and hospitable. My neighbors are GREAT. It is a wonderful community to live it. It is a VERY safe community. A lot of doctors, nurses, medical students, oil field engineers and elderly people live their. Whenever something needs to be fixed the apartment personnel take care of it. No roaches, bugs or rodents of any kind. The apartments are freshly remodeled also; so black appliances, W/D connections, wood floors, title bathrooms and nice ceiling fans. I overall enjoy the place, I had a realtor (Cari) search for apartments for me and she did an exceptional job. Only Con: Cant pay online with debit or credit card. Only able to pay with check or money order. But thats a con that I can live it.

The day we started moving in, it turned out the apartment wasn't really ready even though they had a couple of months to get it ready. Second day of moving in I found a ton of my stuff (mainly books and electronics) damaged because there was a huge leak resulting from maintenance people not caring enough. Then we waited for another leak to happen in the same spot in order to have that moldy ceiling finally painted after six months. The thing I read on here about the maintenance stuff is true, they don't show up when they say they will, and when they finally do they don't really know what they are doing. They can't fix very simple things. Also they cut the water off a lot (without a warning) because they are having problems, so seriously good luck taking a shower before work! I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy! Ah, and the office staff usually pretends they don't know what you are talking about, or they lie when you are complaining about something they promised to do but didn't bother to. I can't wait for the lease agreement to be over.

Then I was moved to an upstairs apartment and my car was stolen in March 2012 and not recovered. Then there was a shooting in the building next to me in June 2012 and now that my lease is up this month and I want to leave they want to hold me here because I did not provide a written notice! The water is ALWAYS OFF AND THE POOLS ARE FILTHY! IT REEKS WITH CAT AND DOG FECIES!! RACOONS LIVE IN THE ATTICS!! YOU DO NOT WANT TO LIVE HERE!! NOT WORTH IT!!
