Rittenhouse Square Neighborhood Summary

Like Old City and Washington Square West, Rittenhouse Square is a part of Philadelphia’s Center City — one of the nation’s most-populated downtown areas, second only to Manhattan. This neighborhood, however, is a little more upscale. Shoppers seeking high-end brands — such as Lululemon, Lush, Tiffany, or Anthropologie — should head to Walnut Street. With so many shoppers on these streets, Rittenhouse Square is also foodie heaven, with upmarket restaurants like Abe Fisher and Parc, which overlooks the neighborhood’s namesake park. Taking a cue from the street-level shops, Rittenhouse rent is on the higher end for Philly, but there are units available year-round.

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
