New Covenant Housing Corporation

New Covenant Housing Corporation had its beginning in the New Covenant Baptist Church. In 1988, a housing committee was formed to study how the church could help revitalize the area surrounding the community near 36th and North Avenue by building affordable housing. The board of directors created amulti-phased plan to revitalize the neighborhood and improve theeducational opportunities for area residents.Organized 1989, New Covenant Housing Corporation("NCHC") has played a critical role in the revitalization and stabilization of one Milwaukee's most disadvantaged areas. Guided by the belief that the well-being of the people and of the community go hand in hand, NCHC has worked tirelessly to strengthen and revitalize the community and turn that belief into something tangible. New Covenant Housing a leader in the fight to protect and give long-term security to low-income qualified tenants in newly-privatized housing.
