Besides the amazing staff (Charm and George specifically), nearby food, and the 24 hour security you get, the building is subpar at best. If you can find another location that is close to the USC campus, I would recommend it. The building is great in a pinch if you really have no where else to rent from.
Gateway has a LOT of problems with their wifi, which is always going out on the daily. There is also a huge problem with being able to get cell service if you are anywhere that is not around the pool area. Like a lot of people mentioned, the fire alarms go off constantly, to the point where residents stopped leaving their apartments which I found VERY concerning. There are tons of loud parties about 5 days out of every week (even during finals). Depending on what security guard you talk to, it can take them over 3 hours to shut down these parties and that's only after multiple complaints from tons of tenants While I do understand that there are a lot of residents, maintenance takes FOREVER to fulfill any request to fix issues in your apartment.
Overall, Gateway is not a horror show, but it most definitely should not be your #1 choice when looking for a place to rent. Maybe place in at #5 or below on your list.

Gateway has been such a great place to live over the past year. Whenever I've had issues and let maintenence know they've been super on top of things and fixed them within a day or two. On top of that the staff here is amazing. I've needed some help with my lease recently and the resident director Leslie Romero has been unbelievably helpful going above and beyond to work with me and get everything fixed up! Everytime I need help and talk to the staff they are always super nice, welcoming, and ready to help in any way they can. Can't recommend Gateway enough!
