Florida Community College at Jacksonville

The school’s downtown Jacksonville campus is just a mile north of Central Station, which is a stop on Amtrak’s Silver Meteor and Silver Star lines. Jacksonville’s elevated people mover, the Skyway, also stops at Central and several nearby stations like Hemming Plaza and Jefferson, both of which are reachable from campus. If you need another form of transportation, there is also a bus service that runs through the city and its outskirts with 56 routes, 5 of which are express. Most students here commute, and many do so with public transportation. Owning a vehicle would be helpful, but is not necessary. The Jacksonville campus is a mile, give or take, northwest of downtown. After you get out of class, you can take a stroll to one of the area’s museums, restaurants, bars, or just walk and take in the bustling city around you. Jacksonville is quickly making a name for itself among other Floridian cities like Miami and Orlando, and if you enroll here you will have a front row seat to the renaissance. Beyond downtown is Midtown, which has its own nightlife and attractions, such as Everbank Field (where the Jaguars of the NFL play).

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
