Staying in the Know

Irving landlords can be tough, but only because they want the best possible person in their rental unit. They will go over your rental history, employment situation and references very carefully in order to determine whether or not you are a good fit for them. Don't feel like this is a personal investigation, as landlords are typically going to do this for every candidate that they meet.

Life in Irving

Transportation

Irving is an interesting case when it comes to transportation. If you're planning on staying within the suburb itself, you're probably best off using your car, although you also have the option of using the Dallas Area Rapid Transit system. However, if you need to travel into the greater Dallas area, you can avoid a lot of traffic snarls if you hop on the DART line that connects to Dallas, or on the Trinity Railway express. These both provide cheap, non-stressful ways to commute into the bigger city.

Where to play

Many people in Irving head into Dallas proper for entertainment, but there are things to do right in the city. There is excellent golf, including the TPC Four Seasons and Bear Creek. The large immigrant community means there are some excellent dining options from a wide range of cultures, such as the Taboon Grill or the Empa Mundo. If you want to try a higher end bar in Irving, pay a visit to Cool River.

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
