NSU’s campus is packed with students, except they’re not all college-aged. NSU shares a campus with Nova Middle School. As strange as this is, it also shares it with Florida Atlantic University’s Davie campus and Broward College’s central campus. Between these three schools, there are thousands of college students walking around the adjoined campuses and the surrounding neighborhoods every day. Another note: even though NSU is officially located in Fort Lauderdale, it’s closer to Davie, a town that’s half the size of Fort Lauderdale. The Atlantic Ocean is just a 15 minute drive east of NSU’s campus. Any student who has a car is always driving out there, and anyone who doesn’t gets a ride from a friend. And who can blame them? With Dania Beach, Hollywood, and Fort Lauderdale within driving distance, there are no shortage of pristine beaches nearby. Fort Lauderdale is a great small city with a lot of charm and culture, from spring training baseball games to a great bar scene. And with two other colleges on NSU’s campus, there are always parties going on closeby.
