It's a nice, quiet, and safe area. Many of the other tenants are very considerate! The grass is always cut, the repairs are always done, and the maintenance man is ALWAYS around. They are extremely pet friendly, they have accepted my Great Dane with open arms. The only reason I gave the building 4 out of 5 stars is because if you come or go anytime later then 6pm you wont find an open spot in front of your building if you're in building A-D. For some reason the other buildings on the other side of the complex are not as "compacted" as buildings A-D. They do have overflow lots but the lighting in certain areas do not allow this to be a good alternate. Also, Helen was amazing!! however I believe she has been replaced with someone new and anytime I go to the office, she is NEVER there. She usually isn't there till 8:30 then leaves at about 11-3:00 for what I think is her lunch break then comes back till maybe 4. I feel as if she should be available on most people's lunch breaks but her schedule is not accommodating her residents needs.

My review of Ashford Apartments is that I love living here. Whenever I have a problem, or no problem, my experience with Helen and John have been AWESOME. When I moved in John was helpful in ways that were astounding. I cannot find any fault whatsoever!!!!!

Alright place to live, I lived there 3 years and every year the rent went up 25+ dollars. The lease I agreed to only listed about 15 things they would charge me for, however they got new owners while I was living there and when i moved out they charged me not according to the lease I signed but they charged me for what the new owners had new residents agree to. They were very picky when I moved out and charged me for several things that I did not agree to in the lease I signed, they even charged me for carpet cleaning then charged me for new carpet. I don't understand why they supposedly cleaned what they thought needed changed. Also most places will not charge you for normal wear and tear, obviously if I lived there for 3 years the carpet isn't going to look like it did when I moved in... Anyways they hit me with a bill for $1,500 after I moved out and my place had normal wear and tear, I tried to talk to the lady in charge about the fact I did not agree to the lease in which they used to charge me for (i agreed to the lease from the previous owners which was much less draconian.) but she wouldn't listan and told me to call their lawyer if I thought it wasn't right. I ended up just paying the 1500 dollars because it would have cost a lot more in the end to get a lawyer. I was very angry, also she tried to send it to a creditor even though I made my payment before the due date, she lied to me and told me the due date was before what we agreed to but I had a copy of what I signed and I called her boss and explained this and they took care of it.. The apartments were pretty nice but be prepared for rent to raise 25-50 every year and when you move out be ready to be hit with a huge fee. Also there we're a few neighbors that would throw big parties during the work week late at night and the police showed up often. Also one time I got my radio stolen from my car while parked there and that same night my neighbors car got stolen from the lot. So Also be prepared for loud neighbors all hours of the night and crime, might want to check your car often and be sure to lock it (obviously). Helen sims (the manager) is very rude and not willing to listen to you about any complaints about how unfair the damages bill was, she just gives you a card for their lawyer and will not listen to you. I had a 3 star review living there but after I moved out and they made up their own rules and didn't go by my lease and wouldn't listen to me and only way I could get treated properly was to go to court with them, now I give them a 0.5 star. I wouldn't recommend this place to my biggest enemy.

What is NOT to love? This place is a hidden gem! Nestled in a quiet corner of the city, it's still close to most everything... without the noise and trouble of a mid-city property. The staff is understanding and responsive to resident needs. They keep the grounds clean, and are constantly adding to the allure of living here. With a dog park completed just last year, and their ongoing efforts to Go Green, they show that they don't just care about the rent check - they care about the residents, and the community as a whole.
