Staff is always friendly. Love the maintenance. They are usually pretty quick to fix issues that you need done! The apartments and neighbors tend to suck though. The closet doors wont last you very long. Theyll fall off their guide rails or whatever. Youll constantly have broken blinds too. You can hear ANYTHING (anything.) your neighbors are doing and a lot of the time talking about. You constantly have new tenants moving in and out around you. Lots of people just run up and down the stairs super loud at all hours of the night. Drains and garbage disposal will break or clog up all the time on you. No one cleans up after their dogs so watch out stepping in dog poop. The locked outside door is hardly ever locked. A lot of the time it doesnt even shut all the way to lock so its open for whoever to walk in. Lived here for about 2.5 years and our lease is almost up and cant wait for that. Apartments are tiny and way overpriced for what you get.

Maintenance is very fast and helpful. They uninstalled the shades and took them away for me. They have come in the night when I believed that there might have been an emergency but really the dishwasher was leaking due to my improper use of the garbage disposal. He fixed the problem by cleaning up and running the washer and informing me on the cause of the issue! Community pool, never over crowded even though it's very nice. Lots of dogs, Germans, muts that look scary, great for the dog owner/lover! And community gardens. Rent a plot (all get plenty of sunlight) take care of it and grow anything! And the staff, Stephanie and Carol, very nice and extremely helpful! They are truly caring people. OVERPRICED. There are many apartment complexes in the area that are much better priced and are also beautiful and great environments, with amenities. The one bedroom at Brookdale is over the cost of a two bedroom with all larger rooms (as well!) at another complex that is at least as nice altogether.

Both front office and maintenance are amazing. They are fast, professional, and make you feel comfortable and at home. I've had a few little hiccups but the speed and detail used to fix my concerns or requests has been incredible. I've been in many apartment communities, moving 7 times in the past 7 years, this is the only one I'd give 5 stars.

You can tell the manager Carol takes great pride in her job along with the staff, to ensure a happy, safe and clean community for all who live here. I have to admit that after reading the reviews posted on this site I was very leery even to inquire about an apartment. But when I walked into the office the staff was friendly and spent a lot of time with me, going over my questions. So I applied and moved into a 2 bedroom apartment that is very nice. I have now been living here for 10 months and really haven't had any significant issues. The office staff have been friendly and helpful when calling or stopping in, sometimes I have to call a couple times to get through, but I get through and the office staff is responsive. I've also had a couple of minor issues in my apartment that when I called the office to tell them about it, they were taken care of. So I guess what I am trying to say is that I'm happy living here I really like the community and the entire staff and would be more then happy to recommend it to anyone who asks me about it.

Poor unresponsive maintenance. Carol in the office is extremely unprofessional and quite aggressive with tenants. The actual apartments do not look like the model, and once you move in the office staff demeanor changes unfavorably.
They do not charge a security deposit, and they go through the apartments afterward charging tenants anything and everything they can call damage.
This is a good location with a scenic drive to Ann Arbor, other than that please stay away.
I would not recommend these apartments to anyone.

I agree with Brandon. Regardless of any apartment response, this place sucks. The manager was a joke. She was rude, disrespectful and unhelpful every step of the way. The other employee was a puppet. She couldn't do anything but take notes. I had dozens of issues upon moving in and not once was one ever fixed properly. Not once was I ever truly apologized to. Doors were installed incorrectly, closets fell off the tracks nonstop, the parking lot was poorly put together and had tons of flood points. The manager had no clue there were two recycling bins on the premise. The sink leaked for 3 months in the bathroom and when they fixed it, they left the bathroom a complete mess. The damn doorbell didn't work for the entire 13 months I was there. If you want cheap, go to Water's Edge. The places are older but at least the workers are nicer.

Staff is unresponsive. Will not answer their office phones even though both managers are present. The apartment maintenance crew is very friendly and effecient, although major difficulties arranging any work to be done. These facilities only use flat white paint, so make sure nothing touches the walls or you'll be paying for them to be repainted. Bathtubs are also low quality and are not sturdy, along with towel racks that don't hold more than one towel as well as terrible drains. The amenities around this location are great, but the management staff destroys anything that could be great about this place.

I have lived in 8 different apartment complexes over the last 10 years and Brook Dale was by far my best experience. The property manager Carol, was a pleasure to work with any time we had a question or concern. When we needed something at the apartment we called and they were on it immediately. If I didn't have to move for work I would have stayed there for as long as possible. If you are looking for somewhere that is nice, affordable, and want to feel like management cares, then Brook Dale is the place for you.

I moved in about three years ago. The apartment was one of the first ones upgraded and is absolutely beautiful with a huge balcony. If something breaks or the sink clogs, the staff is quick to respond and even brings treats for my dog. The management staff is very helpful and tries to plan fun events for the residents. I love seeing the garden when I drive in. The location of the complex next to the paved bike trails makes it ideal for long walks with my dog. Overall, its been the best place I've lived since moving back to Michigan.

So I moved in three weeks ago from Indiana and wanted to post my experience because of some reviews I read online.. Overall I am very happy in my apartment. My balcony is twice the size of my old place and i reserved a garden plot they offer which is FREE and right outside my building. The ladies in the office made moving so much easier for me and so far I really do like it here.. All the stores around the corner and being close to downtown couldnt be more convenient!
