Assumption College

Worcester has reasonable apartment prices for a city its size, and cheaper monthly rates than the nearby areas of Holden, Shrewsbury, Milbury and Grafton. The prices in Worcester are more than half the costs of renting in Boston. You can easily find an apartment for less than $1000 per month, especially if you have a roommate or two to share it with. Assumption is a bit further out from downtown, which means that prices are much more affordable. With so many colleges in the area, like WPI, Becker, and Holy Cross, to name a few, there’s a large market for student apartments. Worcester’s Union Station and Amtrak stop is on the east side of downtown, which is three miles southeast of Assumption. Unfortunately, there isn’t a reliable form of public transit that can take you there from Assumption, which means you can either take a taxi or drive a car back and forth. The same goes for commuting from an off campus apartment to class or on campus facilities. A vehicle is highly recommended if you don’t live in the dorms and aren’t within walking distance.
