Many annual festivals are held in Tuscaloosa. Aside from parades for just about every national holiday, there is the German Weindorf Festival, the Japanese Sakura Festival, the Kentuck Festival of Arts, the Moundville Native American Festival, and the Christmas Dickens Downtown celebration. In addition to these annual events, once a month, local art galleries showcase local artists. During football season, the Crimson Tide takes over, and it seems like all of Tuscaloosa shows up for tailgating, pep rallies, and the game at Bryant-Denny Stadium, which seats over 100,000 fans. Tuscaloosa is one of the biggest cities in Alabama, and as such, there’s plenty to do. As if events hosted by SSCC, Stillman College, or the University of Alabama weren’t enough, there are numerous performing arts theaters that often have shows, the bustling nightlife area of The Strip, the Temerson Square area in the Downtown District, tons of restaurants, and beautiful parks. The Crimson Tide football team’s games at the University of Alabama attract many attendees, but if you want a quieter night, there is a 3D IMAX theater in town, as well as several museums, including the Alabama Museum of Natural History, and two regional malls.
