I was here for 1 year and wanted to stay longer. My main reason for not signing another lease was my drive to school and work. It was about 100 miles of travel in a day. Unfortunately, I give 3 stars due to LARGE spiders and loud, rude neighbors. I'm fine with small spiders every now and then, but when I started sharing my shower with them, it became a huge problem. I had to tape cracks around the patio door to keep them out. (that was a temp. fix) The office could only offer spider traps (that didn't work for me) and to wait for someone to spray. Neighbors on my level were very inconsiderate of others' peace. They were loud, always yelling outside my window and/or door at all hours of the night and early morning. Everyone also smoked and didn't always walk out on the walkway to smoke, so the smell was not pleasant when I came home. On the bright side, location is great when considering access to shopping and highways. The office staff has always been extremely helpful and caring, and maintenance was quick and efficient.
Update: During my last 2 weeks of living here, I caught 3 mice. Maintenance patched a hole behind my dishwasher after I caught 2, but I caught the 3rd one afterwards. Needless to say, I was very upset. Made my experience living here 10 times worse.

I've lived here nearly 3 months now. The apartments aren't anything special. You do get alot of space for a good price. Parking is pretty awful, there really aren't enough spaces. There are no lights in the bedroom. It is not "common practice" for the community to be courteous and let you know there will be significant amount of noise and work going on around. I've lived in apartments for the last 10 years amd each one has been courteous enough to inform me prior to remodels, construction, etc... Smoking is allowed in the apartments. They did not inform us of this piece of information until we were signing our lease! I'm not sure how the apartments were constructed but neighbors cigarette smoke comes in through the bathroom vents in both bathrooms. Maintenance is quite fast however they do not clean up their mess and have no consideration for your clean floors.

I just wanna say this is the nicest apartment complex out there. I have lived there since April of 2017 and the staff has been great. Mia was my original leasing agent and then i got the pleasure of meeting Chivina a few weeks later. These lady's go above and beyond when it comes to accommodating you at your apartment home. I needed to transfer to a different apartment with more space. All I can say is Carrie the manager was amazing! She took the time to talk to me and understand the situation. Because of all of these lady's I plan on being at South Summit for a very long time. I love my new 2 bedroom apartment. The neighbors are great and there is a dog park to accommodate my furry friends. I also really enjoy the diversity that the complex has to offer. It creates a really good atmosphere for everyone.

Apartments look pretty nice, but seem to be built cheaply. They also don't seem to be maintained well. When we moved in, the apartment was very dirty, dead and live ants and spiders were everywhere. Water damage under our kitchen sink and was a big old hole. Didn't look like the blinds, walls, or bathrooms were cleaned at all. Really gross. Outside in the stairwell there is a weird smell and spiderwebs everywhere. Outside my back door, where my dog and daughter play, there are tons of cigarette butts on the ground from the upstairs neighbor. The fitness room is a joke. Maybe 2 people can work out in there at the same time. The laundry room has 2 washers a 2 dryers for a large complex. There are always dead bugs in the pool. I watched a maintenance guy flirt with some girls at the pool for over an hour. We were also called and told we signed the wrong contract (they accidentally gave us the wrong apt # contract since they had to switch us) and were demanding of us and then wanted my husband to forge my signature...!? No. We don't like doing illegal things. I like the ladies in the office, but once our lease is up we are out of here and not coming back.

Lived here for a year and it's generally a nice place to live. They have friendly staff and nice neighbors. There is a very big wasp problem here in the summer months and it took a lot of persuading for them to try to get rid of the nests built in the breezeways. Many times i had wasps fly into my hair when i walked out of my door. They swarm the breezeways and balconies. The dog park is pretty small and always filled with dog poop, but they do try to crack down on people picking up after their dogs.parking is limited if you have regular hours of work. This place is very overpriced for what you get. If i would have known how expensive it would get compared to other places nearby i would have looked anywhere else. Other than that it was a pleasant place to live in a nice area.

I'm a current resident and am happy to call south summit home. If something is wrong maintenance is there to fix the issue on the first call. The ladies in the office are a pleasure to talk to, and easy to work with. I love the apartment, and is pretty much up to date with Matching appliances. Really the only thing that I could say could be fixed is the parking. You can usually find a spot, it just depends on how far you want to walk. Other than that, Great place to live.
I am new to the complex but the staff has been great and very helpful! My neighbors seem nice and it is definitely a pet friendly community!!

The entire staff including maintenance friendly and always available. Shaveena, in the leasing office, is one of the most friendly and helpful leasing agents I have ever met always greets you with a smile and with all the residents there she addresses you by your 1st name. very personable nothing is better than that.

Seemed like a nice place to live when we signed the lease. After a few months everything started deteriorating and the apartment above us flooded. The flooring was damaged beyond repair and we notified maintenance. When we moved out over a year later, we were stuck with the bill to replace the vinyl flooring in the bathrooms. When I asked why we were being charged even though maintenance had inspected the unit after the flooding, I was told we had to pay because the flooding only damaged the living room and the water damage in the bathrooms was our fault. I asked how that is possible since there were water stains on the ceiling in the bathrooms & bedrooms. The carpet in the bedrooms was replaced after the flooding and the bathrooms are in between the living room and bedrooms. I asked why am I having to pay for the water damage caused from the tenant above me leaving their washer hose on after moving out. They gave a very rude response and pretty much said "too bad". She advised the bill is final and told me to stop asking about it.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless they are fine with paying for damages caused by other tenants.

This place sucks! The only reason I gave it 1 star is because they won't let you do less. This place is outdated and way overpriced! Me and my wife lived here for a year, and we hated every second of it. Our rent was $620 for a one bedroom 637 sq. ft. apartment. The place was extremely drafty, all of the appliances were super old, the dishwasher melted about 10 plastic tupperware dishes we had. I wrecked my car going down their steep entrance because it was snowy and about 10 o clock in the morning and the snow removal people hadn't shown up yet, by the way it had stopped snowing about 6 hours before I wrecked, it cost me $800 to get my car fixed. Now we moved out and just got a bill for a bunch of stupid crap that is completely made up and they have no right charging us for. Bottom line the experience was terrible and we will never recommend anyone to live there, actually we will tell anyone we know looking for an apartment to avoid that place at all costs.
