Ivy Tech Community College-Northcentral

South Bend apartment living will cost the typical student around three or four hundred dollars per month, or maybe even less if you find a 3+ bedroom rental with a few roommates. With so many students here, these prices are purposely cheap. The apartments aren’t always “luxury” quality, if you know what I mean, but in my experience I’ve found that this is never really a high priority for most students. It’s more about affordability to them. Outside of South Bend, some students live in Mishawaka. The prices are around the same here, and it’s close enough to Ivy Tech that the commute is doable. South Bend is considered a tremendous university town because of the schools in the area. The two most popular are Notre Dame and Indiana University; you may have heard of them. Ivy Tech students are part of this young crowd too, and on any given weekend you can see them right there with the Notre Dame and IU kids at football games, parties, bars, or at concerts and shows around town. What Ivy Tech lacks in nightlife opportunities for its students, South Bend, Notre Dame, and IU make up for. Ivy Tech students should feel very fortunate to live in South Bend.
