I have rented a studio apt 8207 since Feb 2016-July 2017. The leasing office and manager were really knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. After a few months of living there, the apartment above me flooded and so did mine and the neighbor under me. They brought some air blowers for a few days and I didn't ask for anything else to inconvenience them. After a while , the apartment next to me flooded really bad too. After about a year , the good people on staff started leaving and new staff coming in had a very rude, fake and ignorant attitude. Simple requests had defensive answers instead of helpful answers. My lease was for 6 month and then month to month. There were some parking issues with cars getting towed away including mine twice within less than 24 hours. The situation however got resolved while the original manager was still there. In May I gave them 2 months notice explaining to them that I'll move out pretty much right away as I'm starting my new job out of state, but that I'll leave my furniture in until I figure out a place to live. I bought a flight ticket to return early July to move my things. I always paid my rent online on time around the 1st of the month, sometimes a few days prior. Last week of June I tried to access the resident portal and it was down, second day the same. On July 1st I sent an email concerned and request info about when will that get fixed so I can pay my rent. No reply. After 2 days , I call the office and I'm told the website is down and that management had changed ( no email notification at all as I Kept all their emails to community) but that until web is up, I can go in person and pay. I'm explaining I'm out of state but I will be back in another 10 days to get my furniture and I can pay then but I'm hoping the website will get fixed by then and that they will not charge a late fee since the problem came from their end. The name of the person I spoke to was Melanie. I asked her if she could notify me when everything works again and she has told me that won't be possible as she has too many residents to call but an email will
Most likely be sent out . Never heard or received anything. Fast forward to my arrival from the airport , I get to my apartment with an eviction notice paper on the door , also 2 others : one informing me that the management has changed and the other informing me of the new account I have to set up online. I couldn't believe my eyes. They have sent an eviction notice on the 6 th of July saying that things will be thrown on the street if payment isn't received by the 12th? What if I would've arrived a day later? I had no idea of any of these. I have diligently called trying to pay my rent and ask them how else I can pay. Nobody has informed me of the management changes , I asked to be contacted . Eviction notice? Seriously? That's for people that do not pay their rent. Wow, I was speechless and called the office and I spoke to a Nicole that very rudely informed me that it was my responsibility to make sure rent was paid. I explained I was out of town and that lack of verbal or written notification was unacceptable. The entire lease I was communicated with via email and phone. All of the sudden, you start sending paper notifications and eviction notice. I was informed that is proper procedure and that I should go pay the rent right away. I wrote an email to the office that night and expecting a formal resolution and an apology but never heard back by the way. Next morning I went to pay my rent, the office manager at the time told me that the eviction notice wasn't serious and they werent going to throw my things in the street and that I should relax. Was told things are crazy with the change in management . Office confirmed receiving all keys July 18th. 6 weeks later my deposit check is still not sent . Asked the office and I'm given the run around as they don't have a manager again. What a way to handle an apartment complex and what a bitter experience. Do your research before you step foot there!
