Enjoyed working with Emily at Brown Rentals. She answered all my questions and was willing to find out if she did not know the answer to one of my many questions. She gave us great tours of the properties and found my fianc and I exactly what we wanted. I would not hesitate to recommend people to go see Emily at Brown Rentals.

Ok place to rent from. Make sure to have pictures before you move in. They really try to take everything from your deposit. When we had new people sign the lease, they never inspected the apartment and they made us pay each other for the deposit instead of giving the deposit money back to the person leaving.

At first they seem nice. Their management staff is helpful and polite but the problem is after your lease is up. This company is a major scam front to trap college students. They will charge for any and everything possible even if it isn't legitimate. I was charged for a single command hook being taken off the wall and the lint trap on the dryer being emptied. My friend who rented from them for two years and kept picture records was charged for black mold after he contested their other charges.
If you rent from this company keep records of everything and be ready to contest their charges.
Hands down the best people to rent property from. I can't put it any other way. Try here first before anywhere else in Rolla!

Completely unorganized, it is easy to see that Brown only cares about profits and not their tenants. There are not enough park spaces for the people living on site, let alone visitors. They threaten to tow you if you park anywhere else and expect that you should park up to a mile away and walk. Not only is this a danger during the winter, it is a safety concern any day of the year. I had an apartment with investment the year before I moved in here, and it wasn't great either, but at least the company had a sense of professionalism.
Better than investment, however they don't care about the people living in their apartments, they only care about what they look like on paper.

I lived in their apartment for a little over 3 years. I was never late once when I moved out they kept my deposit when my house was immaculately cleaned. Then they charge me another month of rent and when I didn't pay it they turn me into a collection agency. I would never rent from them again. Karen is a horrible person and I thought she was really nice but she lied all the time and I didn't realize it.
Much better option than Investment, in my opinion. Usually out the that day or the next to solve maintenance problems.

We have lived in a rental for four years. The best experience! Repairs have always been done same day. Everyone is very professional. Would definitely recommend!

My son and his roommate rented an apartment from Brown last year while attending Missouri S&T. We were initially happy with the apartment and service, but after moving out our experience with them has been awful. Their move out procedures were very disorganized and resulted in over $750.00 in charges to my son and his roommate on an apartment that was left clean and in good condition. Their charges for "painting" were exorbitant - over $550 for a small 2 bedroom apartment!! And the refund check they sent to my son was post-dated by 90 days and mysteriously over $130 less than it should have been, by their own admission. If you rent from Brown, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING about the condition of the apartment on move in and insist on an in-person move out inspection (even though they will tell you this isn't necessary) and go over the settlement statement with a fine tooth comb. Or better yet - rent elsewhere. I wish we had.
