I am writing from the perspective of having read dozens of reviews today for this property. The most frequent words I read were "roaches", "bed bugs", "mold", "filthy", "awful", "water damage", "dangerous", and so on. I feel terrible for the students who have had to live here! I have lived in college towns for a few years now, and I can confidently say that, having read thousands of reviews in my time, this is the most concerning property I have ever read about. I am thankful for the students and parents that wrote a review about their horror-story experience with Vie at Raleigh. The smoke alarms are always needing a battery change and maintenance is not quick to fix them. The smoke alarms have been beeping since the beginning of July. They moved us into a dirty apartment and the ceiling fan and bathroom sinks are broken. The last unit the dryer had a short and kept shocking anyone who touched it, maintenance took 3 months to replace it. The contact information they provide you to speak with management go unanswered for several months. When they do call you back if you do not answer they leave a very vague message to call them back. It has been three weeks since I have returned their message. I have yet to call and it does not go to voicemail.STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

There are a lot of things I could say about Vie and I really don't even know where to start. First off, I lived at Vie for the past 2 years and just moved out last month. When I moved in to Vie in August 2016, they had about a 2.3 rating. Clearly their ratings have gone up in the past 2 years, but I can tell you firsthand that it's because the staff bribes residents with swag and other free stuff in exchange for a 5 star rating on google. I can't tell you how many staff members in the past 2 years have said something along the lines of "earn this if you give us a 5 star rating on google!" or something similar. If you read through the 5 star reviews, you can even tell which people were bribed by 8 names in a row giving a "shout out" to the same person at the office. The problems I faced at Vie in my past 2 years were tremendous as well! Since I moved in, there were multiple shootings or attempted shootings at Vie. One was fatal, and the other no one was injured. Last night, there was another shooting where 2 people were injured and sent to the hospital. The way these problems have been addressed are pathetic. 2 years ago when a person was fatally shot, Vie commented on the incident saying they were "aware of the incident." Not sure how someone dying is an "incident." Lastly, I faced multiple problems with my apartment. For 2 years I had extensive water damage in my room. Every time it rained you could see a line of water run across my ceiling and down my walls. I complained for almost a year and a half with no fix. About the third time I complained, the office came in and spray painted my ceiling to cover the damage but didn't actually fix the leak. This led to ruined furniture due to the spray paint staining my stuff, and my ceiling STILL leaked. At one point, it got so bad that when it poured rain, my fire alarm would start dripping out water. It would set off all the alarms in my unit every time it rained because water was coming down through my alarm and all the wires. This happened twice. The second time it happened, I took the fire alarm down from the ceiling and to the front office, complaining about it being a fire hazard with water sitting in it. The front desk literally told me to "put the fire alarm back in the ceiling, or you could be fined." Even though it was leaking water and was a huge fire hazard. And with all that water leaking into my ceiling and then drying over and over again had to lead to some sort of mold, perhaps even black mold. The office finally fixed the problem about 2 months before I moved out after 2 YEARS. In short, I would not live here again and I would suggest you don't either.

I had an absolutely HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE living at the Vie at Raleigh for 8 months, and it was a direct result of the terrible management. In addition to the fact that the units themselves sub-par are not cleaned before move-in, the staff there has a complete disregard for their residents satisfaction. During my last two months there, my air conditioning unit broke SEVEN times!!! It took several calls on my part to even get anyone to come look at the unit each time, and it turns out that they were putting a temporary solution on the AC every single time, which resulted in it breaking again within 3 days of them "fixing" it. This happened 7 times in a span of two months, and I lived the entire months of June and July essentially without air conditioning. I then attempted to speak with management about the issue, and they completely ignored me for 3 weeks despite me calling, leaving voicemails,and sending emails EVERY SINGLE DAY. It took me personally going down to the office 3 separate times just to talk to the person I need to talk to. Then, when I finally did get contact with the manager, it was evident that they simply do not care about customer service, They disregarded the fact that they ignored me for three weeks, and refused to comply with my request for compensation for the issue that they caused. They were rude because they didn't want to deal with complaints and refused to acknowledge that it was their fault my air conditioning was intentionally not fixed AND that they were purposely unavailable to a resident in need of services. I would steer everyone far away from this horrible place. DO NOT live here.

Do not waste your time moving here. This is the worst experience I've ever had living somewhere. I've spent the last two years here and what I can say is that this place is completely disorganized and for the price you pay it's not worth it at all. Their "move in ready" apartments are not move in ready in the slightest, you will be met with a dirty apartment, appliances that do not work half the time, and bugs and mildew in some cases. Maintenance takes their time to help out when you submit a request and sometimes they don't even come even if your apartment is flooding due to the washer flooding the ENTIRE apartment. Bugs are EVERYWHERE and the neighborhood is not well kept, cops are always here and the sound of gunshots at night make it very difficult to sleep. I do not feel safe here. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else.
