Meredith College

The prices of rentals within ten miles of Meredith are a bit more expensive than your college budget probably allows (on average, two bedrooms cost $911/month). But this is just because cities, in this case, Raleigh, always have more expensive rents. With this said, there are also enough colleges in the area that landlords realize they need to have homes on the lower end of the price range as well. If you look on this site you will see over a hundred listings that are under the threshold of $700/month. So while the average prices for the area may be higher than you may feel comfortable paying, there are more than enough affordable apartments available for college students. Parties are never scarce on the weekend, whether you look on Meredith’s campus, in off-campus student areas, at neighboring North Carolina State University, or in the big city of Raleigh. There’s a scene for everyone; some students like going to fraternity or sorority parties at one of the local campuses, others frequent Raleigh’s museums or music venues, while some just like to get dinner and a movie in the city. You will always have things to do on the weekend here, and won’t feel like you have to go home once the school week is over like you would at other colleges.

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
