I do not recommended rent here. I have been living here for bout ten years for the deal I got back then. but the office lease staff are horrible. one of my neighbors seems is a drug dealer the apartments has leaks and i could smell every day marijuana coming from the neighbor apartment. the are so noise at nights, I try to leave the apartment because they didn't anything about it. but they refuse unless I pay two ,moths of rent. I feel in danger with strangers and police coming all the time to the neighbor apartment. this place is not safety. also someone scratch my cars so bad and they try to steal my scooter. bad place to live.

We lived at Bryn Athyn from July 2015-July 2017 and felt very safe and at home. our apartment was quiet and well laid out and the neighbors respectful and responsible. The staff was wonderful and it was always a pleasure to pick up packages from the lovely office staff Diane and Imelda. Any repair was well taken care of within 24 hours and Pedro was always respectful and courteous. The swimming pool was a real treat and there were many hours of the day when my daughter and I were the only ones in the pool. The landscaping was very attractive and well maintained. We moved to be walking distance of our house of worship, if not for that need we would still be there. Very reasonable for the price, though we never used the gym which could do with an upgrade. There is a trail behind the property and we sometimes took our bikes on it. All around a very pleasant experience.

In my opinion, this is a nice place to live and located in a great location in N. Raleigh. My apartment was located on the lower level in the back and I loved it. At each lease signing you can have one wall painted from one of the many colors offered. The grounds were kept well, the maintenance team were prompt and pleasant, and the office staff Imelda and Dena were polite and friendly. I lived alone and felt safe. The walking trail was right outside my front door. The fitness center could use upgrading and assigned parking could help with the minimal parking issues. I liked the fact they they will tow if a car has no parking sticker or visitor pass. And they will tow, I've seen the tow truck haul away cars many times. I signed three leases with Bryn Athyn and only moved because I moved out of state. This is a nice place to live.

I moved here in 2016 and had to move out in 2017 due to chemically treated pined straw that was put all around the apartment after I moved in. As I was downhill from it I was subjected to chemical vapors that made me very sick, and I had to move out. Ten feet away from an apt. is the legal requirement for chemically treated pine straw in Raleigh they said. Ten feet away from the apartment is way too close for this stuff, as it is treated with dyes, formaldehyde and formic acid. It created a lot of bugs outside. I got very dehydrated after it was put on ground and I had to run a humidifier 24 hours a day, and had to drink a lot of fluids to stay hydrated. I could not open my windows or doors. I spent a fortune on out of pocket for a homeopathic Dr. that was of minimal assistance. I didn't feel well again till after I moved out. It made me feel very tired, I had bad upset stomachs with severe diarrhea and weight loss, bad body aches, sore throat, nasal and chest congestion, bad laryngitis, and difficulty breathing in my lungs with some lung pain in the warm weather. It curtailed my ability to look for work, and ability to go to social events. I presented them with my research on this stuff from Wikepedia,so they knew, and they only removed a little but not enough to make a difference for me; even with a Dr's letter about it. it is extremely flammable as well. Beware! Putting profit above people's health is a poor business practise! And now they know. Also the kitchen sink and kitchen countertop is abnormally high, and the sink is set far back into a corner. Washing dishes caused really bad back pain for me, and I had to wear a brace while washing dishes. I told them about this problem too. After I told them I had to move out due to illnes and pain there - they told me I had to pay rent until there was either another person to sublet or someone to start a new lease; even with 2 months notice. They are money mongers and could use grass instead of cheap chemically treated pine straw, and they could have not charged me rent during the gap between my moving out and someone else moving in= 5 weeks rent, due to my being medically forced out of there. I had to pay a lot for physical suffering and emotional anguish here. I cannot recommend this place.

A great place to live. My wife and I lived in Bryn Athyn from Feb 2015 to Nov 2016. We have rented several apartments before this, and this was our all-around favorite. We were sad to leave. The apartment was clean and well-appointed at move-in. The apartment complex including structures and landscaping is well-maintained, and the neighborhood is good (the other tenants were decent, hard-working people). Work requests were addressed promptly and completely. GSC (the company that owns Bryn Athyn) went out of their way to accommodate our need to move from another one of their several complexes. They rolled over deposits and facilitated a rapid moving schedule. Other rental companies would not have been so understanding. The office staff was warm and friendly, and attended to our every need. Their six-or-so annual events allowed us to meet our neighbors and better enjoy the neighborhood.

These 5 star reviews are bullshit. The office staff is absolutely horrible. I do not recommend living here one bit. They have a huge policy list but they are super wishy washy on who they force these "rules" upon. There are so many apartment complexes around here in Raleigh. Do yourself a favor and don't even stop at this complex area. I will be sure to let everyone I know to avoid Bryn Athyn. I cannot wait till the lease is up. OH 1 MORE THING. This complex IS NOT pet friendly. We paid a $200 non refundable pet fee plus an extra $15 a month for my dog to live here. If your dog barks ONCE, they will threaten to slap a fine on your monthly rent. If you have a dog as a pet, I DO NOT recommend them living in this complex unless you want to be hassled at.

I am Very disappointed in the leasing office. I have been a resident for 9 months and went to the leasing office yesterday to tell them I needed to vacate by May 1st the apartment due to a job change and family needs I was moving out of state. Their response was there was nothing they could do to help I could pay a termination fee of 2 months rent or I could sub-lease the apartment but anyone would have to be approved by them 1st and then I would lose my security deposit unless I got them to pay me back!? WTH is that I said you have people looking all the time for apartments and mine is a prime spot she said yeah I know people really like those units back there it is quite and no apartments above them they are back away from everything and its quite. I said exactly so you could find a renter easy for that apartment and I would not mind you showing the apartment if you let me know ahead of time. NO was the answer. Well you know what NC law states that if you give notice you need to vacate Your landlord must try to re-rent the property reasonably quickly and subtract the rent received from new tenants from the amount you owe. This office does not want to help. I have been in property management for over 15 years and was a property manager for 10 years so I know it easier to re-rent an apartment the is in a better location and you can find a tenant easier. This office does not want to help a struggling single woman stay on her feet they want to break her and put her farther in debt. You wonder why so many are homeless or on welfare. No one cares about the outcome when you rob someone of their hard earned money! My overall view the property was nice and loved it but circumstances are forcing me to leave the area.

Bryn Athyn looks amazing. It's very well kept and has a beautiful vibe to it. The steps and gentle slope make it feel especially welcoming. The apartment itself is incredibly spacious with a great layout. It is the perfect setting for guests and friends, who love our fireplace and patio. It feels like I live in a middle-upper suburban home, which is exactly what I am striving for. If I could buy one of these apartments, I would in a heartbeat. And I've never had any safety concerns during my time here.
