welcome to the bunker! this (approx. 300sf) studio is a converted free-standing garage, with vaulted ceiling. it’s extremely quiet and secure. almost hidden, definitely off the beaten path. off-street (actually off-alley) secure, covered parking at the door. the kitchen facilities are basically there - micro, toaster oven, hotplate, fridge, coffee maker, … but no stove. tho, from my experience, a whole lot of folks don’t cook these days anyway. (but your air fryer works great!) however, the tenant does have access to the washer/dryer, which is right inside the back door to the big house, which is right next to the big kitchen, if needed. (we are very social here.) and there is a gas grill to use. (there has also been a bit of update since the pics were taken. the shelf is gone, tv in it’s place. fyi - wifi, electric, water all included.
Note: the lease converts to month-to-month after 3 months.
the whole vibe here is rather bohemian. i encourage artists, musicians, creative types. (no judging - just pay your rent!) sometimes there are also backyard movie/game nights.
i like to play in the dirt, so i try vegetable gardening every year. and every year it’s learning curve. but it’s mostly successful…?
the neighborhood is incredible. sidewalks, trees, lots of kids, dog walking… and this location is hard to beat. we are 1/2 mile from the post office/library/five points in one direction, 1/2 mi to shelby park greenway/dog park/bottoms the other.
myself, i am a male in my 70’s, divorced, retired musician, own and have lived here in this 140 y.o. funhouse/museum for 23 years. i have a housemate, 39 y.o. male music biz entrepreneur. as an animal lover, i presently have 4 felines, in and out. (but i do miss my doggies!)
