Faulkner University

Montgomery’s downtown and Garden District areas are only six miles southwest of Faulkner University. There isn’t a specific public transportation service that connects the two areas, but it’s a short drive if you want to live in the city and commute to campus. Faulkner is also within driving distance of Hope Hull, Millbrook, Wetumpka, Tallassee, and Tuskegee. All of these towns are connected to the campus by Interstates 65 and 85, which make commuting for Faulkner students infinitely easier. I would recommend checking the rental markets in all these towns and see if you can find something you like. States like Maryland and Virginia like to say that they’re in the South, but you haven’t been to the deep South until you’ve spent time in Alabama. The summers can be unbearable for someone who isn’t used to the heat and humidity. By the time May arrives, the temperatures here are in the mid-80s. They stay in the 90s during the hot summer months, and don’t cool down until October. Even then, they’re still in the high 70s. Winters are the payoff for this weather, as they are pleasant and consistently in the 60s.

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
