Well after 3 months of living here I have to say the first 5 weeks were hell and came at a expensive price. With all the issues we have gone through as residents and how management has resolved them is no where near professional in any sense I left a couple pics to show how we received our unit. I personally spent about 3 days re-cleaning and removing paint from the floors about $30 in products and my time. When asking building management in a email for a simple reimbursement of products I had to use to clean up their mess they said there will be no type of reimbursement for cleaning when we signed up I thought wed have a nice clean and safe unit and building to live in and enjoy. Although the outside was nice and trendy the inside was quickly slapped together. Building security for the first 3-4weeks was non existent the key fob system was installed and broke within a matter of days and then took about 2-3weeks for it to be fully functional again. The secured under ground parking lot was not secured for a month after move in and many car break ins happened during that time. The continuing construction in the north end of the building leaves lots of dust and debris all over the garage area. I use my vehicle for business and I have to wash it everyday because theres a layer of dust on it. I could go on forever but theres several employee reviews on here and I know this because I have personally interacted with them the first few weeks. In conclusion I rated prime place based on the what we were shown and what we received along with the slow progress dealing with management and how issues are addressed. I bumped it up from a one star to a two star only because the building is now secure. Note to mgmt. stop asking if Im going to renew my unit with a price increase of well over $200 more then I paying now its very hard to believe that phase 2 will be completed on time along with the other amenities you promised and were not receiving.

Advantages: 1. Prime is a new apartment with a spacious living room and complete home appliances. (I really love the refrigerator) 2. The staff have a good attitude and can respond quickly. Requests of maintenance can be handled timely. 3. The WIFI is really good. 4. The prices are affordable. Disadvantages: 1. Compared with other apartments, Prime is far from the light rail&bus station. 2. No carpet, so sound insulation effect not good 3. Some bedrooms have something similar to a power supply (I don't know what it is), and it makes some noise. 4. Although I can see that the staff have been working hard to improve, issues of packages are not very satisfactory. 5.My bathroom doesn't have the place to hang the shower curtain Overall, my resident experience was not bad.

I was impressed by how professional and informational the tour was along with how well the management was able to maintain organization and remain efficient, despite their high demand and work load. Dispite slanderous outbursts and endless character defemation by media and the disgruntled. I can see Prime Place will be a great place to call home

Update 10/7: I canceled my lease with this dysfunctional, dishonest company after being virtually homeless for a month because of them. I got an update from University Student Legal Services this week stating that Prime Place moved some people in this past weekend not having received a certificate of occupancy OR a rental license! Sketchy. If you're stuck in a rut with this place and attend the U of M, please contact University Student Legal Services! They've been a great help in dealing with this company. Apparently Prime Place will not be moving anyone else in until February! Stay away from Prime Place! There's a reason there are so many bad reviews. Original review: Horrible management and a lack of planning. I don't know whether to blame the construction company or the general managers, but this is getting absolutely ridiculous. I was told I was still okay to move in September 2nd. 3 days before projected move-in, we're told that our move-in has been delayed 2 weeks! With school starting, this has totally sucked and has added heaps of stress on top of being a student. They're offering some compensation ($50 off per day the apartment isn't ready) for the apartment we're not even able to live in yet, but it's not enough. It doesn't account for the cost of commuting to campus and parking costs. Now 3 days before projected move-in AGAIN we're told we can't move in on that date. Our move-in is pushed out to September 23rd, leaving us displaced for a total of 3 weeks! They say they will update us again on the 16th and tell us if we can move in before then (in the middle of a school week). I have not ended my lease and still plan on living there. However, this is complete BS. Once I move in, they have a TON to prove.

Absolutely took advantage of college students and left ALL of their residents for this year stranded for at least a month and up to an entire semester. They are extremely inconsistent, apathetic, and unhelpful when dealing with this situation. They are not honest and have absolutely zero respect for students and their time and families. The management is not professional in the slightest so don't waste your money or time with this shady company. #PrimePlaceisTrash

Was told a week and a half before move-in that my room wouldn't be ready until "at most" 2 weeks after class starts. Then, I get an email saying we will get another notification whether it'll even be ready then. Some of my friends won't be able to move in until December. I don't know who's fault this really is. A lot of reviews are putting it on management when it could easily be the construction company's fault. I can excuse the slow communication, there's one guy in charge of dealing with hundreds of angry people. Regardless, they're putting me in a hotel and I'm STILL PAYING FULL RENT FOR AN APARTMENT I CAN'T LIVE IN. Have a lawyer look over your contract if you're actually looking to live here. We were able to negotiate certain aspects of our contract. I'll edit this review once I've actually moved in and can see what the apartment is like.

Absolutely disgusting management. Blake has been nothing but a pain to work with throughout *his* mistakes, and it's extremely obvious that this is a very, very seedy company. Do *not* rent from this place unless you want problems. They do *not* care about you as a lease owner. Just disgusting behavior. Obviously, screw ups happen, but Blake's handling has been nothing short of completely unacceptable in terms of trying to solve the problems he's created. I truly hope the management has their reputation permanently tarred. This is unacceptable for students, and they should know way better.

Thank goodness I didn't rent from them. I'm writing on behalf of my friends, who signed a lease. They were told that their apartment would be finished by move in, though others would not. However just today they received an email stating that they may need to find other accommodations for the first few weeks of September before the apartment would be ready. As for the compensation they've offered? Mediocre. Embarrassing. Good luck with the legal ramifications, assholes!

I was lied to by Prime Place, now I don't know where I'm living for the school year. My review is similar to others who were angered at the fact that construction was delayed forcing the hundreds of students who signed leases with Prime Place to not know their living situation for the fall semester just weeks before it begins. However, I think you all need to know more about exactly what happened leading up to this decision. So I called Prime Place a week before the email was sent out to me and asked, is my apartment specifically going to be ready for move in on the correct date. They said yes, Mike, your specific apartment will be ready, although others will not be. This was in late July, around July 30th. On August 1st, the send me an email saying that that was not true, and that I needed to chose between 3 options. I won't bore you with all of them in full, but the first correspondence said this for option 2, the option I selected. "You can choose to have Prime Place find a place for you to live until your apartment is ready...". Seems to suggest that they would find a place for you to live for two months and then you get to move into Prime Place, right? Nope. Their second correspondence omits certain parts of the option that were in the first correspondence and essentially all it was is a termination of the lease. You might be think here, read things carefully before you give a response, but considering the fact that they lied to me about my apartment being ready, told me my specific unit which they knew was not going to be ready, was in fact ready, and then sent an email saying that option two would mean we would move back into Prime Place after two months, they deceived me. I know that by the time you're reading this construction is probably done. You don't have to worry about that. But what you will have to worry about is dealing with liars as property managers. You'll have to know that anything that they say has to be taken with a grain of salt. Maybe two grains. Management has proven to be unreliable and willing to sacrifice the security of its patrons when it is convenient to them. They didn't care about me as a lease holder, so just be careful before assuming they will do any different to you. Best of luck, -Mike
