Students, scholars welcome! This is a private house, shared with renters (housemates) who come from all over the world. Housemates are welcome to think of this as a temporary home and share conversation. I welcome graduate students, especially internationals.
Escape the chaos of downtown Madison (and the high prices) by living in this family neighborhood.
I've rented for years to international students, mostly grads and special students, plus scholars and US grad students. I enjoy learning about your country and your studies.
For the record, I am fully vaccinated and boosted against covid, and would like you to be as well.
It's a lovely older private home with two bedrooms for rent. This room is in a renovated basement, is much larger, feels like an apartment and is cool in the summer. Full size futon with memory foam on top, comfy chairs, full privacy.
The house has a lovely front porch, big back yard, is in a walkable neighborhood with stores within a few few blocks. It's on seven buslines and the bicycle path shoots directly to downtown.
I worked at UW for a long time but retired. I have a sweet older dog and do not accept other pets as he's used to having the place to himself. :-) I enjoy intelligent, fun, casual conversation. Grads are great because they are usually serious about their studies, cheerful and interesting.
My two sons are grown and gone, and I prefer semester schedules as kids return on holidays. One full academic year is also possible.
I've had people from all over the world!
If you choose to contact me, please PLEASE PLEASE include a couple of paragraphs about yourself. What is your plan for Madison living?
I do not respond to people simply asking for a tour.
Thanks, Kathy.
