New management is garbage. Good luck getting your complete security deposit back. Spackled all holes in the walls made from hanging pictures, etc, rented a carpet cleaner to clean all the carpets, and made sure the place was as clean as when we got in. Still charged for general cleaning and carpet cleaning fee. Luckily they FINALLY have a responsive building manager, not that it matters.

POTENTIAL RENTERS BEWARE!! This is my first time writing any type of review on the internet and I felt that I had to so that other potential renters would not have to go through what my husband and I had to endure. First of all, we lived at the Woods from the time they first opened (almost 3 years ago) until April 30th 2017. We loved it at the beginning and had about 6 of our friends move in to different units as well. We were promised 300-500 dollars for each person that we referred. We did not get even one dollar because the owners were bought by a different company. The original owners were not helpful, but luckily we did not have any huge issues and the company that bought the original owners is even worse than one could imagine. I am just going to focus on the experience we had after we had moved out. As I mentioned, our lease ended April 30th. I am just now receiving our security deposit, today, August 23rd, 2017. The first security deposit check that we got 60 days after moving out (I had to call multiple times and ended up having to pick it up at the apartment complex) was completely wrong. We were expecting 600 dollars (300 dollar pet deposit, and 300 dollar traditional deposit), the check was for 135 dollars. I had to call multiple times to get any kind of response on why it was wrong. When calling to talk to the manager of the company I was told that she does not take calls from people that no longer live at the Woods. After finally speaking to someone I was told that we were charged a 160 dollar cleaning fee to clean the carpets (small bedroom and closet) even though there was no damage. This was clearly not in our original lease but the complex stated that since they bought the apartments they can charge us for this cleaning. She then stated that the pet deposit was just overlooked. I was told I would get a new check as fast as possible. Now here we are today 4 months later and I have just received the check. I was told it was getting mailed to me multiple times and today it ended up in my mailbox with no name or address, meaning it was hand delivered. Bottom line- do NOT move to these apartments.

We just want perspective tenants to really research their options and learn from our experience at the Woods. You'll likely not see your deposit back and they fail in keeping your belongings secure within the key fob access only building. Recently moved out in mid November 2016 after about 1.5 yrs as residents. We lived in a one bedroom my husband, newborn baby of 3 weeks and our 5 yr old Irish Terrier dog-just to give some background. The Woods had a change in management from Poe Companies to MCRC didn't seem like a swift transition. We experienced a stolen bike and a unpleasant check out. Our lease had been signed with Poe Companies and so when we checked out by new management we were given an "Everything looks good-however this is not the final say". Our deposit return said the complete opposite. According to MCRC we were "given a break" because charges exceeded our deposit. I wish there was a more clear definition of normal wear and tear from residing there over a year. Example: We had holes in the walls of closet from shelfs we put up and they stated it would cost $5-75 PER hole. We were charged $125 for leaving "apartment dirty, esp kitchen". Clean is clean and we boxed our belonging and cleaned. During a walk through, whether it's the "final say" or not..there should be a level of courtesy by management to inform us of any visible issues and give us the opportunity to fix. We also had to pay for carpet cleaning due to pet urine. A third party personell calls us to explain charges and said "cat urine" was found...we have a dog. From our original $600 deposit we received $113. Our other issue was a stolen bicycle that had been stored in the lower level garage. Only entry to garage is with key fob entrance. There were cameras up and when we reviewed footage the clip where bike disappeared was missing. From our time living there about 4 bikes and a car break ins have occurred that were informed to us residents. According to management they have had two break ins to their office(which is on the second floor) and had lap tops stolen. Management responded that residents are in and out of the building at all hours since many are medical professionals working odd hours and could very easily let someone in who doesn't live there-even if its the middle of the night. I am a nurse, I know odd hours and that's not an excuse for the multiple break ins. Lastly, Our dog walker was approached by police while walking in the trails to ask if she's noticed any homeless people in the area. I'm sure we won't be receiving any news that our bike was found but I'm just glad that we moved out when we did because it seems as though security is not a top priority for the Woods.
