Florida Southern College

Florida Southern College has a vast array of special events, including the Festival of Fine Arts. It’s a series of performances that last throughout the academic year performed at the Robert A. Davis Performing Arts Center on campus. From musical performances to theatrical performances, this is definitely a series of cultural events that shouldn’t be missed. FSC also has it’s annual Florida Lecture Series which is a forum that brings speakers to campus to talk about Florida life and culture - from history to art, these lectures bring the community together to interact and learn from each other. FSC’s campus is actually an attraction in itself, the campus contains nine structures designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, so if you’re into architecture or just beautiful buildings, spending time on campus might actually be a very good experience for you. If you’re into baseball, the Detroit Tigers spend their spring training in Lakeland at Joker Marchant Stadium - and you might be able to catch your favorite team playing a game there in the spring against them! If you’re more into a quiet pace, then trek on over to the Polk Museum of Art where you can find many permanent and rotating exhibits.

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
