The Fixture Co. Building was constructed in 1906 for The John G. Duncan Machine Company. It was one of three completely fireproof buildings in the City of Knoxville at the time.
In 1919, the City raised the North end of Gay Street and created the Jackson Avenue ramps that cut diagonally across the original first floor storefronts.
Completely renovated in 2012, the building consists of 11 studio apartments, two two-bedroom apartments and one street level commercial space.
