University of Wisconsin-Green Bay

University of Wisconsin – Green Bay (UWGB) is a public University of moderate size that is located on Green Bay’s East Side, right off the coast of Lake Michigan. The campus is known for its environmental friendliness and scenic beauty.

UWGB is also known for being affordable, as well as offering some fantastic programs in Humanities and Environmental Sciences. The academic environment at UWGB focuses on smaller classes with heavy workloads and lots of peer-to-peer discussion. The professors here are undeniably passionate about their fields of study.

The social life at UWGB mostly revolves around on-campus activities. There’s always some event or another being held on campus. There’s little Greek Life at UWGB, except for a few fraternities and sororities. But these groups have no special housing and mostly use the organizations as a quick way to make friends and perform community service. Sports are a big morale booster here. Most students love to go see the Green Bay Phoenix basketball team, which competes in Division I.

When to Search

Off-campus housing is in high demand, since many older students like to live closer to the city amenities. The best time to begin searching for apartments is in October. Begin gathering your potential roommates and talking about what kind of place you want. By the time January rolls around, touring apartments and considering signing a lease should become a priority. Starting your search as early as possible will assure that you get the best selection of apartments possible.
