To anyone who is seeing my review, I will simply list some basic issues with Veranda Place Apartments.
1.) The Management is known to be not so proactive in helping tenants in their issues that I'll list below soon and are known to try to squeeze out more money from their tenants. Either that or they are failing badly in service-wise. So be prepared and be cautious of their business practices. After all, this is a business that only cares about profit and money. Your money is what motivates their effort to keep you in their Apartment. They'll take advantage of young college kids, so yeah. Of course, they'll keep a smiley face and be nice and modest, like any other business, but bear in mind their intentions in reality is to maintain a profit from you.
2.) Their constant eagerness to get you to renew and ways to deceive or manipulate you. You'll notice them in their events. This will vary from things but this mostly applies to renewals. Of course, is a business that are willing to get your money, they'll try to get you with "sweet deals" or "promising deals". Though is obviously an irritating way of trying to get tenants to stay. A bombardment or like a spam, is more annoying if you have problems that they do not fix or put a hold on.
3.) The Service Requests, to put simply. If you don't speak up about issues in your apartment or room, then they'll end up getting more profit from inaction of tenants. They will also charge you for things that are at times ridiculous, this will vary. So long as you filled out the move-in service inspection form to prevent charges. Of course, the management is poor when it comes to repairing or updating their apartments for new tenants. With that said, pressure them to give you new things for your money worth. Note: Take pictures of any issues in your apartment.
Another Note: Compared to Management, the Service Maintenance folks are rather much nicer and funnier.
4.) Be aware of loud parties, theft, broken gates, loud car noises, and for some reason, firefighters. Theft is the main issue, mostly because management is not proactive in fixing their gates or establishing security cameras. So much for the "gated community", most of times the gates are just open due to them breaking frequently. As for loud parties, just find out the buildings or ask around for where the parties are frequent to avoid.
5.) The Veranda Place Apartment has potential and is livable, and is fair unless you are suffering or dealing with many unnecessary hassles, then it may not be the money worth. You can have pets, you can walk or use a bike to get to campus. Which is a decent distance, like 13-24 minute walk to reach the main campus and with a bike is like 6-11 minute. I'd suggest you room with friends or known people to avoid issues or disputes with random folks.
Note: I've asked other tenants, they mostly agree to some of the basic issues here.
Conclusion: Is a Modern Apartment Life, is good and nice, so long as they are up to date, which will most likely half of the Apartments needs updating or fixing. By the way, personal restrooms!
TIP: If four people are moving in, one can refer one person, that person can refer another person, etc.. until 3 of you receive a $200 for it. The last fourth person will not receive any but you all can split it evenly whenever you move in. So do not believe them (Workers) on some things when filing the forms to move-in. They'll deceive you!
Currently, my experience has been much of a nuisance, I will not specify what mine are, I'll handle it thru the proper channels with management. So do not bother replying to this review, Veranda Team. I'll be pestering you all soon, after all, I like this place.
So, with that said, I hope things get better for me and my roommates. Other than that, this review and the rating I have provided will remain as it is until further notice. Hopefully management can get their act together and start being proactive in servicing their tenants a bit more. Especially if they want to get new tenants or get tenants to stay in a competitive field.
