Beware * I needed a place quick because we sold our house sooner than expected and are building in Altoona and I wanted to be near the project,I have perfect credit,no criminal history,and they wanted past rental reference,well I had my own home for 2 years and had rented 5 years before that when I was single,I work in a customer based industry, they told me 2-5 days,WELL THAT WASN'T TRUE, so we had to try and contact my past rental from 2 plus years ago, REALLY ,because they treat everyone like 2nd class citzens,and that they are better,I am in the business where we live by survey's of CUSTOMER SATISFACTION,for which these folks obviously don't,JUST Farm Animals NEXT NEXT,thats how you can be expected to be treated,No GOD Fearing People their.So of course I found somewhere else. And their Big LURE is $99.00 the rest of the month,well if they make you wait until the last DAY who's ahead. HELLO MONICA, no today I found out even more great things about your complex, and yes I tried to call your Corporate office last year and I get a answering service, but a friend of mine has had trouble with you as well it seems you don't answer your calls but you have someone from your local office call, but thank GOD I am long gone of you but seems you are screwing over his family member with your tricky lease's, I can only hope someone from Consumer Protection Division gets ahold of if my friend doesn't get his hands around someones neck there first.

I've been living at Prairie Woods Apartments so almost a year now, and I LOVE IT. Every time I have called maintenance, which hasn't been a lot, but they are always come in a hurry and fix whatever problem I've had. And the ladies that work in the office are absolutely wonderful! They have worked with me so many times when I've had issues with rent. Apartment hallways are always clean! I would live here for the rest of my life and be happy!

The actual living here was fine as a guy in my early 20s, but my dealings with the office staff have been among the most frustrating things I've had to deal with in recent memory. The neighborhood and grounds aren't great, had my windshield broken after my first couple months of living here, no cameras in the lots or buildings. A friend would routinely use his credit card to open the security doors and get into the building. Hallways frequently smell like weed and you can hear people coming and going, I lived on the top floor but with friends on the ground floor of a different building I can say you hear quite a bit above as well Maintenance guys are nice and fast to respond, I just wish I didn't have to call them as often as I did. Office staff on the other hand have been an ongoing source of frustration. My truck was almost towed on two different occasions even though I had been living there for over a year, while other cars in the lot that didn't move for months at a time went unnoticed. No help from management, I had to leave it somewhere else when I left town out of fear of it not being there when I got back. They stopped accepting packages earlier this year so you're out of luck if you want things shipped to you. My lease has been up for nearly a year, I've only stayed because I was planning to relocate closer to work and waiting for a place to open up. When I went to give my 30 days notice as required I was told that because I did not give a full calendar months notice I would be required to pay rent for the entire month of December even though I will be moving into my new place on December 1st, and my deposit won't be returned to me until January. This was all according to a form that was part of my move in, which I did not receive a copy of, nearly two years ago. Again, no help from management, instead assuming that I had lost over half of my lease. I know this is part of renting to a generally more shifty crowd of people, but you would hope that as someone that has quietly paid their rent on time for two years that I would at least get a reasonable attempt to meet me halfway and work out a solution.

The staff at Prairie Woods is very friendly. They know me by name and greet me with a friendly wave every time they see me. Although, I do wish I had an updated kitchen, it is a nice place to live. My building is quiet and clean.

TERRIBLE complex. Easily the worst apartment complex I've lived in, and I've lived in quite a few. When on a tour with the property managers, we walked into our room and everything smelled like weed. Said they were dealing with it (and they did the person above me), but EVERYTHING smelled like weed for two months after moving in. Other people in my building obviously smoked as well and a property manager lived in my building and still did nothing about it. Also, lots of shady people in this place. I made sure all my doors were ALWAYS locked, apartment and vehicles... I regularly saw people snooping around at night checking windows/doors of apartments and vehicles to see what was unlocked.. not a safe neighborhood. I could go on, but you get the gist. Don't rent from this place. I lived there 3 months and that was 3 months too many.

I've lives here about 5 months now. First off fist day I moved in my car got broken into and over $1000 worth of stuff got stolen. And what do you know only camer this place has is for the front office so lock your doors and have a loud alarm. Next old outdated ac units that are really loud in the summer. The heat works but during the day it gets to cold so u have to turn it up and during the night you have to turn it down or u will roast. You don't get a garbage disposal the dishwasher is sub par have to wash twice each wash and seems to wash for random amount of time.oh yeah and if u don't have a debit card you can't wash your clothes here they only take cards. Having an apartment that faces a court yard is kinda strange you can't open your windows at all unless you want a couple hundred people to see. People up front are nice but they will hide fees from you right from the start. One more thing if your on the third floor birds like making nests above the account unit I've asked for them to remove it but they haven't 2 months later.

Do not live here my lease was for a year and within the year they upped my rent 3 times. Dont ask them to fix anything either may take them months to even check the problem yet alone fix it and if your living there now make sure you take pictures of everything you clean and replaced before moving out. they will try to charge you for everything even the items that you replaced with your own money

Unless you want constant pill bugs all over your apartment, to be able to hear everything your neighbors do, not even talking about sex, you can just hear them walking, creepy neighbors, a tiny kitchen, burners that don't fit the stove, rent due when its not even Friday, when your rent is late its 100$ charge ON TOP of your rent already, just because the impatient bastards cant wait until payday. They give you a notice which is supposed to be physically "served" but INSTEAD they set at your door, completely and totally inappropriately, at 10 o'clock at night.. When moving in my couch didn't even fit through the door. Its supposed to be no smoking but the hallways constantly reek, there's only 1 washer and 1 dryer on this floor.. DONT live here

Prairie Woods Apartments is a great property! I lived here for about a year and had no troubles with my neighbors, traffic, or the staff! I had a wonderful building, apartment, and always had my needs met whenever I needed maintenance. I loved it here so much, I decided to work for the office! I soon found out that we have the best residents a property could ask for!! I am so grateful I was able to not only live here, but also work in the office and make friends with a lot of our wonderful residents. Thank you to Prairie Woods for making my personal experience awesome.
