We’ve all been in the situation where we forget to eat breakfast and didn’t pack a lunch, so by the time the afternoon rolls around we’re famished, parched, and desperate to get some food in our stomach so it’ll stop growling. At DMACC’s campus you’re less likely to experience the Des Moines restaurant scene and more likely to enjoy the flavor of Ankeny. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, Ankeny is an area on the northern edges of Des Moines -- it’s almost like it’s part of the city -- that is right next to campus. You don’t need to go to downtown Des Moines to enjoy that meal you’ve been craving. Just look around Ankeny and see what you’ve been missing out on. You can find approximately fifteen DART buses interweaving and criss-crossing and following each other through Des Moines on any given day. There are regular routes, express routes, flex routes, shuttles, all of which help DMACC students commute to class, or to the library, or even to friends’ places when they can’t use a vehicle. Not every student will be able to bring a car with them to college, or have a friend they can ride with. These students can feel safe relying on DART to take them around Des Moines every day.
