The new management team treats us horribly. In the 4 months since they took over as managerman, we've had constant unsecured or non-controlled access to the garage and inside the building. I was violently attacked and mugged 2 weeks ago on the property by a homeless man who was hanging out in a stairwell that management knew was unsecured for 3 months. Also, the same week the new management team took over the property about 4 months ago, our neighbors car was stolen, my fianc's car was broken into, slept in, and had everything valuable stolen. The next morning peoples' ID's and personal things were found scattered in the hallways within the building. Tennants are constantly finding groups of people who look like gang members or vagrants wandering the hallways late at night, who either run or get hostile when they are ssked if they live here. This was 4 months ago, and we told and showed them all the broken doors, non-controlled access points, and how people are getting in. Not one door or access point was addressed or fixed. 4 months later, I was attacked because of their negligent and careless inability to address the controlled access that we pay a lot for, and are guaranteed in our lease. Only now, after the police report from my assault and battery, have they fixed only one of the doors. Last week tennant's cars were vandalized, 4 vagrants on my own floor threatened to stab me when I got home from work, and key fob access pads were ripped off and the wires were cut. After my assault, I litrliter did not recieve ANY call, email, or anything asking me of I was ok physically or mentally. And I still haven't been asked that. My fianc and I have been been shown zero concern for our safety. Instead, I received an email saying they will let me out of my lease for free, and ever since, they act like I'm an annoyance to them. All I want is to be make sure my family is safe.
One day I told the tall dark haired gentleman in the mail room that there are 3 homeless people doing drugs in the stairwell. His response to me was, and I quote, "We don't make homeless people leave the property, but you can call 911 if you want." I was speechless. They are concerned about homless illegal drug users safety more than their own tennants. How is THAT controlled access? Still, anyone can get into the garage and building as of today and I have pictures of the broken doors to prove it. The lack of concern, and the inability to honor the lease agreements is frightening and has many of us tennants here at Alta City House dumbfounded and seriously scared. I hope this review is helpful because this is all 100% true and they still seem not to care. I'm treated like an annoyance everytime I go down to the office to get packages. The access to the door directly across from my apartment is still not secured or controlled ad of today. Management have known about all of the broken doors since they took over the property. Do not sign a lease here. I've lived downtown for 7 years now in various apartment complexes and have never felt even slightly unsafe or treated so bad by the manager and her staff. We just want controlled access, and to get what we pay for that is not being honored in our lease.
PS I have still not been asked if I am ok since I was assaulted in the so called controlled access property. And I have the police report and case number to prove it. I am not just some disgruntled tennant. We tennants are only concerned about the unsecured building, our safety, and why they can't honor the lease and fix a few doors and access points.
