(university of dayton south student neighborhood)

South Student Neighborhood Neighborhood Summary

Also known as The University of Dayton Ghetto, South Student Neighborhood is dominated by UD upperclassmen. Over 400 houses — at least 200 of them owned by the university — sit just south of downtown Dayton and north of Oakwood, adjacent to the UD campus. The feel is overwhelmingly collegiate, though a number of the buildings house members of the Catholic order that founded UD, The Marianists. That can make for some obvious comedy, especially on weekend nights (or mornings).

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
