Firs today all, the place is really good and the prices are convenient. The complex has a 10%/ discounts for students so it's very good deal if you are a student like me and studying at UNC. Transportation to school is done via D and J routes which come very frequently in the morning. The way back is via J bus and it's one of the buses that keep working till midnight. So even if you hangout with your friends at Franklin Street, you can simply take the bus and go home at night. For the apartment, the kitchen appliances were recently renovated. The kitchen has spacious drawers, dishwasher and microwave plus washing machine and dryer at no extra cost. The rooms are spacious as well. The apartment complex is currently has it's own pool which was a nice addition, there is a plan to have a gym as well and gas grillers (at the moment there are only charcoal grillers in the complex). There is an advantage of being a tenant at GSC apartments like Kingswood in that you can go to the leasing office and ask for special card (free of charge) that let's you use any amenities at other GSC complexes. For example you can use the Gym, gas grillers, basketball courts, etc... This special feature is very convenient for me. Leasing office staff and management are very nice and professional, they always address and fix the issues in my apartment in a timely manner. There is also a 24-hours line for emergencies and in case you need urgent help they can reach you and help you out. For car parking, there is a car pass and there are multiple and many visitor parking spots across the complex. If you like jogging and hiking, the apartment complex is lying just beside Morgan Creek Trail and it's great for walking, jogging, walking your dog, etc... Overall I really enjoyed living here and recommend this place for anyone who is considering living near the University at an affordable price!

Apartments are ghettofied. Yes, I do know there's no such word. Run down and not worth no more then $600.00 per month and $700.00 for a two bedroom. The people working in the leasing office are really nice, ,pleasant, respectful. I really wish the same could be said about the apartments. Update 5/2018. Do not even consider renting one of these apartments unless it's your last resort. Constant repairs and they do not do anything for inconveniencing you. This place is hoodified. Yes I just made that word up. The office personnel is nice however when you see that after three days you have done nothing but inconvience a tenant and not just because of something simple but major and they are paying damn near a $1000.00 a month take something off the rent or say hey would you like for us to put you in another apartment or I see your lease is ending soon we can make some adjustments and let you move sooner.

I had a good experience living here, and it's a good price for the area. It's right on the J bus line which is very convenient. The apartment is safe and they are vigilant about pest control (you have to do your part keeping the apartment clean). Walls are a little thin and neighbors are a little loud, but overall a good place to live.

I was very skeptical of this place considering how cheap the rent is given their newly renovated units. I was, and still am, pleasantly surprised. The people in the front office are always helpful, friendly and accommodating. I usually do not need to call or put in a service request more than once to get this fixed or addressed. Maintenance guys are always polite. I have no bugs, mold, etc. Carpet is old and I wish they replaced it...But they fulfilled all other requests, including securing me a unit close to the front of the complex. They have a security camera on the front entrances which is a huge plus. Serious cons are that my upstairs neighbors are a herd of elephants and I hear them stomping around at all hours of the night. I can also hear their baby elephant when a tantrum is being thrown.. Nothing my ear plugs can't handle. Also, pipes/plumping doesn't seem that great. I can sometimes smell my kitchen drain. Although when my bathroom sink was giving off a sulfur-like odor, maintenance replaced part of my water heater and it hasn't been much of an issue since. Anyway these are mild cons considering how low rent is. Another issue is that shady individuals hang around the apartment buildings at night. I have been accosted twice (once asked for money) and both times felt extremely unsafe. During the day I have had no issues, and my immediate neighbors are all very polite. It's unclear whether these shady individuals live at Kingswood or are passing through, in which case it's hard to control.
