Five Points Neighborhood Summary

Named for the busy intersection of South Milledge Avenue, South Lumpkin Street, and Milledge Circle, Five Points is a hip and upscale Athens neighborhood just west of the University of Georgia. Known for its mix of eclectic shops and historic homes, the Five Points area is a hotspot for UGA students. In fact, many of UGA’s sorority and fraternity houses are in the mansions along Milledge Avenue. Like most Athens neighborhoods, converted homes and duplexes are the main rental options in Five Points. Downtown Athens, the center of the area’s nightlife, is just 3 miles to the northeast.

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
