Rollins College

Rollins was established in 1885, and with old age comes storied traditions. One of these is the Bach Festival, which was born in 1935 and continues to this day. For two weeks the campus is transformed into a haven for classical music and its fans. Fox Day is another event, created in the 1950s, that continues to this day. Every Spring, there is a day where classes are canceled and students are encouraged to go out and enjoy what the Orlando area has to offer and return for a barbecue celebration later in the day. Sports events (Division II) also draw a lot of buzz around campus, and students always turn out in droves for important games. With everything that goes on at Rollins, you probably won’t be spending much time in your dorm or apartment. From 1995 to 2005, Rollins College was ranked the second best post-secondary school in the South by US and News World Report. This was impressive, sure, but what’s followed in the years since has been incredible. Rollins soared to the top of the list in 2005, and 2012 marked the eighth straight year it was ranked the #1 college in the South. It holds top spots in countless other rankings, with its MBA programs, arts and sciences programs, and abundance of Fulbright Scholars gaining significant attention. Students here are getting the best education in the South, and can use nearby Orlando to their advantage when they want to connect with companies and specialists in their field.
