I am extremely disappointed in this apartment complex. My husband and I have been perfect tenants here for almost a year now. We found out that my father was diagnosed with cancer and left to see him, missing the chance to turn in our 60-day notice (I did notify them over the phone before I received the news). Rather than being understanding, they are forcing us to pay an extra month’s rent at a higher cost due to us turning in our notice a few days past the deadline. Moreover, as I cried on the phone trying to figure something out, the woman I spoke to was blunt and indifferent, bordering on rude. If you are looking for an apartment complex that lacks all human decency and compassion, look no further than Abbotts Run!

I am extremely disappointed in this apartment complex. My husband and I have been perfect tenants here for almost a year now. Abbotts Run is amazing. I love the renovations that they've done. The clubhouse is beautiful! I also love the dog park that we have (and so does my dog). Glad I decided to live here. The only downside of living here is the traffic that you have to deal with when leaving the property.

Horrible conditions. You will pay close to a thousand dollars a month for a one bedroom roach infested apartment. And in that amount you pay a monthly fee for extermination! What a joke. They do not care about tenant planning. All lifestyles thrown together. I've had to invest in sleep aids to even get a decent night's sleep. Theft, filfth and just plain old not caring. But they talk a good talk and fool you into thinking they take care of things. I don't know how I'll get rid of roach eggs in my belongings! I've thrown away so much just trying to eliminate them.

Worst apartment complex ever. Their carpets were absolute garbage. We personally steam cleaned them when we moved in. Then they wanted to charge us 780$ for new carpet... um you thought wrong. The showers had mold and fungus in them when we moved in. They lied about letting us buy out our lease because our house finished early. The new owners wouldn't keep up with the previous owners agreement and forced us to stay. You get hit on by drunk Mexicans who hangout in the stair well and throw glass beer all over so you can't walk your dogs safely. You can hear everything including the lady who runs a daycare on the second floor from 6 freaking am throughout the night. We had to pay for a pool that we couldn't even use.... never again and I will never refer a friend to this horrible company.

I have lived in many apartments and this has been the best experience so far. The move in process was difficult because the unit was not ready when I arrived, but the staff was quick to try to remedy the situation. I am very sensitive to noise but have not had any major issues. The office staff is very courteous and always asks if there is anything they can help with, and every time I call someone always answers the phone (not the case at many places). I scouted many complexes and this is the best value. Brand new appliances, washer/dryer included, and great location. Great staff to top it off!

My husband and I have lived here since June 2016 and have enjoyed it. The location is convenient. While there is a little but of noise at times, it's not bad. The area is a mix of families and students, so there isn't lots of loud noise every night. They respond to maintenance needs within a day. The only negative experiences I've had here have been during the first few months we lived here. These experiences involved miscommunications with previous office staff that took effort on my part to clear up. That staff has since left and I haven't had any negative experiences since.

I have been residing in abbotts run now for a year and just resigned for another. Management as well as maintenance carry a very professional demeanor about themselves and are always quick to help you solve any complications. I've had three different occasions where matienence was called to my apartment and every time they arrived in 30 minutes or less as well as giving an explanation as to what was wrong and how they were going to fix it. The best part is location! You are right near everything but still far enough back that you receive decent privacy from Market Street! Highly recommend!

My son lived at Abbotts Run while attending UNCW and he joined the USMC. When he moved out he made sure everything was paid, the apartment was clean and he then left for boot camp. Months later we got notice that he owed approximately $400 for "cleaning fee, water and trash" and we were supposedly "notified by email" and we were told that since no one replied it was turned over to a collection agency!! I never saw an email and he was in boot camp with no access to email ,phones etc! Very unprofessional and we left the apartment clean so there was no reason to charge so much money. The one bedroom apartment was tiny and there was no damage to anything!! I feel like this apartment complex is disgraceful to say the least. My son left to serve his country and they left us with a poor credit rating!! I would give a zero rating if I could!!!

recently just got married so my wife and I needed a place to stay and came across Abbotts run. Living at Abbotts run is convenient because of the local stores near by, public transportation, & work is near by. Getting an apartment here was fairly easy and smooth. Customer service was competent in their jobsand very friendly staff. We weren't suppose to get an apartment for 3 three weeks but they were helpful and reduced the time and got it down in a week for us to move in. The one star left out is for the apartment did have a minor discrepancies, but overall great community to live in, great apartment and great experience thus far.

Quite possibly the worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. I would not reccomend to my enemies. Their primary communication is email, they won't even try to call you over an important matter. They never return calls. The management staff is clueless and is routinely over hauled. The area is awful, lived there for 2 years and heard gunshots at least 10 times and had to call 911 twice. Roach infested. Disgusting. If you are into prostitution right next door this is right up your ally. 1 star is generous.

Great staff, great space, affordable, and safe. I've lived here for almost 2 years now and I absolutely love these apartments. We're under new management and the new owners have already worked so hard to improve the place. The pool is awesome in the summer and my favorite thing is that they're so pet friendly. There's plenty of room to take the dogs out and play or walk. It's also seriously convenient to be so close to everything (target, Walmart, food). I go to UNCW and their bus stop is within walking distance from my apartment. They're on top of pest control and repairs (a maintenance guy came at 11pm once to fix our dishwasher). This has been an awesome place to live and I absolutely love the folks in the office.

Been here for over a year, RUN AWAY. Still will give an honest review, with the good and the bad. Do your homework and you will see lots of other reviews with the same issues I have had. The good: (which does not outweigh the bad by a long shot) 1) They are cheaper than a lot of the other apartments in Wilmington as far as rent, but you have to pay for everything! See the Bad below. 2) They are not to bad, really old looking appliances, cabinets and carpet. 3) Installed brand new stackable washer / Dryer combos. 4) Finally started accepting packages in their office. 5) Seem to keep landscaping up pretty good. 6) Decent size apartment for the most part. 7) No assigned park spaces, lots of parking. The bad: 1) They have been advertising big changes were coming over and over again on Facebook but nothing they have stated has happened in the last 3 to 4 months except washer / dryer combo and redoing apartments that you will never see unless you are a new tenant. 2) They are putting in new appliances / cabinets / carpet, but only in the ones that become empty. So if you already live here you are stuck with the old, dingy yellowing stoves, fridges and carpet. 3) They advertise a car wash area, well the Vacuum has not worked for almost a year. The water hose has been cut in half after being busted for about just as long. 4) They have a HORRIBLE roach problem. Not sure if their pest control is spraying with just water or roach attractant. I have tried to keep my place spotless but you turn on a light or move something and they scatter everywhere. I put out over 10 roach motels and think I am finally seeing a slow down. I lifted the cable box in my bedroom and there was a whole family gathered for warmth. They are also in all my electronics now. My TV has died thanks to the Roaches. $800 I won't ever see again. They were everywhere. 5) Their "fitness center" has 1 exercise bike, 1 treadmill, a small flatscreen, 2 jump ropes, 2 yoga pads, and an all in one weight machine that halfway works. 6) They don't enforce people cleaning up after their dogs very well, they supply bags but the people are horrible here about letting their dogs poop anywhere they want. They should really enforce the fines more if they even do it at all. 7) They have a few grill areas but they are normally pretty nasty looking and are extremely small. 8) No dog park area. 9) Nothing at all is included in the rent. You are charged for water, pest control(which is awful), trash, on top of rent. 10) One of the main roads is always filled with parked cars / tractor trailers making it hard to see what's coming most of the time.

I have lived here two separate times and both times it has been a good place to live. The maintenance crew has had a decent response time for the problems that I have had and I have no problem walking to some of the restaurant from my apartment.
