No amenity information provided.
We are looking for two new roommates for a Columbia Heights row house. This is a shared living environment/room rental. International students are welcome.
The available room is the master bedroom with its private bathroom. The room rental is comparable in size to almost any efficiency/studio in the Washington, DC area. The room alone is 700 square feet. If you are willing to share, the room can comfortably fit two people. The private bathroom has a large jacuzzi/whirlpool tub and shelved storage space.
The whole home is 3100 square feet in size with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths and includes a laundry room with a washer/dryer. The common areas are lightly furnished with couches and dining room tables, and the kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher, and toaster oven. All the appliances are brand new stainless steel chrome suite.
You must be willing to sign a 12-month lease- however, short-term contracts would be considered(with a slight increase). The monthly rent will be $1540. A security deposit of $1540 will be due at lease signing, with first month's rent due at move-in. All payments are made online through my property management software.
Students wanting to pay for the semester are welcome. Utilities (gas, electric, water) are not included and range between $85 to $105 per month. You're welcome to have your own internet/cable installed with Comcast or Verizon or split with current roommates (the split is $22 for 5 people and 28 for 4 people per month). There is a maid service that cleans the home's common areas at the cost of $40 every other week. Having a cleaning service keeps the total home cleanliness at an above-average standard.
The location:
Georgia Avenue-Petworth & Columbia Heights Metro stops (Green & Yellow lines) are both 4 blocks away (you are literally in-between both stations).
DC USA Shopping Center is 4 blocks away (Target, Best Buy, Marshalls, Washington Sports Club, and more).
Both Giant Food and Safeway are within walking distance, 3 and 5 blocks, respectively. You will have countless cafes, restaurants, bars, and nightlife to choose from.
Roommates:
Current roommates include a working 9 to 5 professional who is female. She mostly keeps to herself, and occasionally she has friends over for a couple of drinks, dinner, study sessions, or game nights. The other roommates are male Johns Hopkins graduate students graduating in May of 2024. On June 1st, I will lose my middle room tenant to graduation. In this unit, you share a bathroom in the hall, that bedroom is 400 square in size for $1250.
To be considered as a tenant, you will have to complete an online application through TransUnion.
The online application includes a background & credit check (which you are responsible for paying $55). This requirement is for your safety and the other current roommates.
Common sense explanations for credit blemishes and background issues will not automatically prevent your application from being denied. You will also have to talk with the current roommates to ensure there is a fit for you and them.
Virtual showings are available if you are unable to come by in person.
