Currently waiting outside to move with other new tenants and existing tenants. The office was supposed to open at 10 AM and it's past 10:30. Absolutely terrible first impression from the staff here. Edit: there was some complications with our leasing agent. Once this was realized, the community manager came down and took care of everything!

These past couple months the office has shown professionalism and done everything in there power to help in figuaring out a difficult situation. They have been helpful and friendly and have gone out of there way to find a solution. I am very happy and the Verandahs as a whole is a perfect place to live!

Looking to move fairly soon, went in to see a 3bd/2ba unit because I'm trying to weigh my options with other complexes in the area. It was drizzling this morning so the Spanish speaking gentleman in the office refused to do a tour because of the weather which is understandable...but i went over to west port colony and the woman in the office walked with me in the rain, dress and high heels and had no issue showing me a unit. Called this place back once it stopped raining to see if I could tour and they still refused because the rain could come back..kinda disappointed about this being that I'm moving soon and this is my only day off to do this. I work in sales and could definitely tell they didnt care too much about possible new tenants which is unfortunate. Overall though it looks like a nice property! I'll have to try again once this weather stops..and you never know when that'll be.

The first month I moved in their maintenance crew went crawling in the attic space over my unit and broke a water line, flooding my apartment. The unit below mine also had water damage. Management at this complex is terrible, I would not recommend a Carter Haston property. The property manager went on a 2 week vacation while my unit was flooded and the assistant manager did nothing, the only way to get them to clean up the water from the flooding was to complain in front of potential buyers, once you sign your lease, good luck, they don't care any more. I sent emails and left voicemails and never got a response back from anyone in the office. I was told that all the dirt and grime from the flooding from the attic would be cleaned, but the complex never sent anyone to clean up the mess, I had to do it myself. They cut a huge hole in my wall to ventilate the attic into my bedroom, so I had to pay to air condition their attic space. When they finally came to paint over the water damage several weeks later they used the wrong color paint. The pool looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a month, there's mold growing in the fountain that flows into the pool. And, to speak to the review about the yapping dog, I have to listen to it every day and it is obnoxious. The rent is super high for outdated units. The apartment comes with a microwave that doesn't work - my neighbors said they had to bring their own too, the one in the unit is so bad.

I'll start off by saying the apartments, the fixtures, parking, and the location are all nice. In fact I really love this part of the city. I'm leaving this negative review solely because management is horrendous. *** I've gotten attitude when I came in and spoke to a human after leaving multiple messages that were ignored about my AC unit not running. The office is always understaffed, so when you do get to talk to someone, they're rushed and irritated. Sundays are a war zone within 10 feet of any dumpster. Garbage piled high in all directions. Management puts letters on everyone's doors about once a month, usually a threatening, aggressive rant about a policy one person somewhere in the complex violated. It's like they're so burdened to be taking everyone's (excessively priced) rent. Well, they won't be getting ours anymore once our lease ends. I'd much rather live in a community run by people who can at least *pretend* to be appreciative of my quiet lifestyle and money coming to them every month.

We are very disappointed with our most recent encounter with the top management. Every month we would come in to ask how much our rent is for the month and we would pay a couple dollars extra to stay on the safe side. 4 months pass and every time we are told there is no balance due until this month they indicate that we are being charged extra due to the increase in rent which should have been told to us every time we came in to ask how much was due the 4 months prior but instead we are now being charged all at once for their mistake of not updating it in the system. 4 months have passed and we have not received any emails or notices indicating that we owed them any balance until now. VERY disapionted In not only their lack of communication when trying to resolve a tenants problem but also lack of customer service when trying to resolve a mistake caused by them not giving the right information to the tenant when asked what amount is due 4 months in a row. Causing a impact and inconvenience to our budget.

She has made attempts but replied that they are kids..But, didn't we ask about it before moving in??? why was there no honesty? Is it because a sale is needed? The valet trash is a WASTE of money!! we end up paying monthly valet trash fee and yet we have been dumping our own garbage since pick up time is very inconsistent and the raccoon scattered the waste at the breeze way. So, you want us to send an email every time this happens? if this is happening for YEARS, what solution was created? I agree with other comments, front desk is NOT receptive.

Major issues, easily the worst complex I've lived in in Florida. From the start: the units are built poorly. There is no noise barriers so you hear everything right down to the footsteps of your neighbors above. Carter Hastens - the company behind the complex is a joke. Their system is always down or misbilling and then they try to nail you with penalties for it. I finally moved out and instead of mailing my final bill as promised they tried to just send it to collections! On top of that the property condition deteriorated significantly during the year I was stuck there. The population did too - it became far from uncommon to come home at night and see a half dozen of St. Pete's finest swarming the place. Got bad enough I actually went out and bought and installed an alarm system. The Good: Maintenance crew is awesome. The Bad: everything else, especially building construction and management The Verdict: The rent wouldn't be worth it if it was only a penny.

I like my apartment but all of the noise! All I hear is constant dog barking throughout out the night and it wakes me up in the morning! I can't sit on the balcony in the morning and drink my coffee because the people below me let their Chihuahua out on the balcony every morning and it barks at EVERYTHING. No to mention the way the apartments are set up with basically a big alley in the middle makes all of it echo and oh so much worse. The people BELOW me play music every night and I can hear them walking around, talking, anything really. The soundproofing for the apartments is really lackluster. Also they only have 4 washers and 4 dryers for the whole complex, which are tiny by the way and always full. Really trying to push that $40 a month to rent a washer and dryer. :/

They never call back if you leave voicemails, and always have a childish comment to say back no matter what the reason for calling. If I had to judge the property alone, it would be a 4 star, but unfortunately the management is just full of these women who got stuck working at a leasing office rather than an actual good paying job, and they take their anger out on anyone who speaks to them regarding the property. The regional manager should definitely consider rehiring the entire front office staff.

We were coming up on the end of our lease and were going to move elsewhere for a bigger floor plan for a reasonable price, LEAH stepped in and gave us a better offer !! She is amazing and always has been very personable and professional I've never had an issue if any at all that hasn't been resolved. They get a 10 from me!

I had nothing but praise about the Verandah's before, but am not happy about them forcing you to participate in the Valet Trash Service and keep a dirty, ugly brown garbage can in your apartment. Loved the program before and did not mind paying the monthly $25/fee but now they make you take this garbage can in your apartment every night and not leave in the hallway. I hope they don't mind all the residents leaving it on the patio even though it will look more trashy to visitors and potential renters than leaving it in the hallway. If they are so worried about what the hallways look like maybe they should try power washing them and get all the dirt and pet droppings off of them.

Overall, the community is nice. New management has stepped up to make this a nice place to live. Great location as well.

I did have some issues during my first lease (last year) but the management and maintenance staff rectified the situations as quickly as possible. Leasing agent Leah is amazing! Not only did she up-sell me on a unit last year (lol) BUT she really worked with me this year finding a new apartment due to some unforeseen circumstances. I called her A LOT but every time we talked, she remained professional and calm which greatly helped me during my dilemma. She's a star and definitely as asset to the Verandahs. I ended up signing another lease because of the great customer service. I rate 10 stars solely for Leah! Management did change last year but Kristin and Ashley are understanding and have been a pleasure to work with. The Maintenance team is excellent and friendly as well. I think the community is well kept and homely. Like all apartments, you will have your issues but the management team will work with you to resolve it.

When I was searching for an apartment I chose the Verandahs because this apartment is in a great area, my apartment was recently remodeled, and included a washer and dryer. However, I am surprised at the fact that more people haven't complained about the noise if they lived on the second or ground floor. I am early in my lease but can't wait till it ends. I constantly hear banging from my neighbors upstairs. Bowling, Wrestling, Jumping Jacks who knows what they are doing up there. I wouldn't take the time to write a review if it weren't disrupting my daily living. I get awakened by stomping and slamming at ridiculous times; were talking 3am-9am. Constant stomping, doors slamming, floors creaking. I tried calling the office to see if they wouldn't mind asking them to keep down the noise but that didn't help. I am forced to call the authorities because there is nothing they can do. All in all, if you are a light sleeper please do yourself a favor and rent a top floor unit. Update: I still have the issues expressed in my first review. However, the management of the property has no intention to help with the issue. They have a total disregard for their tenants after they sign their lease. I get awakened in the middle of the night because of the neighbors stomping above me. This has caused me so much stress, frustration, and sleepless nights. I have tried everything I can to get the management of the property to assess the situation. I have audio recordings on my cellphone of the neighbors stomping and dropping things and that doesn't seem to be enough for them to do something about it. If a cellphone can pick up the audio of obvious stomping and dropping items, you know it has to be loud.

THE WORST APARTMENTS TO LIVE IN!!! Very unprofessional and rude staff. The management team is the worst. They should not refer to these cheap apartments by "luxury." Everything in the apartment breaks and when we call to get it fixed it takes a week for them to come and fix it. The family and I have a very bad experience and we always have issues. We are moving out as soon as the lease ends because it is just horrifying to live here. Our A/C is currently broken (thanks to the guy that came in and broke it instead of fixing it) and they do not care. They want us to live without A/C for 5 days. Very unprofessional and rude staff. They need to get rid of these people and put professional people to work because this is absolutely ridiculous. I recommend ANY OTHER APARTMENTS besides this one. The worst experience ever living here!!

I absolutely love this complex. The staff is amazing and since day one they have remembered my name and greet me as soon as I walk into the office. I'm in a one bedroom that is very spacious, no problems at all, and if I ever have anything to discuss they are very quick to accommodate. I'm not sure what the previous management was (from the previous comment), as I moved in Jan 2014, but since I have been here I have had nothing but support, helpfulness, and friendly faces. I know not every case is the same, but if you realize that you can actually speak with the staff, Julz, Danielle, Jamie and everyone else, you truly feel like you have a supportive group of people here and they will truly listen. The people in the complex seem to be mainly young professionals, military, and families, and I feel very safe as a single adult. If you're looking for somewhere to relocate, just come talk to the staff (I clearly have nothing but good things to say), they are amazing and they will help you feel like you are at home. I truly thank the Verandahs for helping me out when I needed somewhere to live!

I used to love this place, it was very quite and I loved calling it home. Ever since they got new management it has gone down hill and I can't wait to move. The only good thing about this place has to be the maintenance people that work here. Even the police officer that used to be the courtesy officer moved out and they still haven't removed her number from the non emergency list and all those calls get rerouted to her. The place is nice and they will do anything to reel you in but at the end you become and number and not a voice. If I had to do it all over again I would have moved out when they change ownership. They do have a nice gym and pool but once again they have to do something to reel you in.
