The 1221 community is fabulous. The people are great, the amenities are top-notch, there are fun events, so it pains me to write a negative review. However, I have not had a great experience living at this complex. In my first apartment, I awoke to liquid streaming down on my face. Turns out, my apartment leaked every time it rained. After a work order was input, maintenance came out and patched it up. Next time it rained, it continued to leak. This happened 3 more times. Plus, the leak caused a mold problem, and the root of the problem wasn't addressed for over a year. Additionally, I came home one day, laid down in bed, and ants started crawling all over me. I was told to get a can of raid and wait until pest control came days later. Eventually we were able to compromise and I moved to a new unit. Yay! No leaks. But, alas, cockroaches. Pest control came out and treated 6 times, with more and more aggressive treatments. I've had to throw out 2 expensive coffee makers, remove everything from my kitchen, pay for treatment, and there are STILL cockroaches. I'm not a slob, by the way, something is wrong with this apartment. But wait! There's more! A UHaul runs into the gate (not 1221's fault at all), but then, ironically, the height limit sign is dangling from the garage, hard to see. Then, of course, I run into it causing a deep scratch on the top of my car.

I lived here at 1221 broadway for 2 years. After i moved out, they sent me a ridiculous final bill where they said they replaced the oven glass and painted the apartment. The total bill is almost 1000 dollars and that includes an oven glass replacement for almost 400 dollars (perfectly functioning oven glass by the way). They even sent me a water bill over 60 dollars for the final 7 days i was there. Usually water bill is under 15 dollars for a month. The management sucks accept couple ladies in the office who work there. They ll try to rip u off at the end. I didn't do anything to the oven glass other than normal cooking and the walls were already not painted when i moved in. I actually need to move back to SA again but I m going to across the street of 1221. I disputed these charges and I was told they are non negotiable charges.

Supposed cameras in hallways yet its always wheres waldo? when they try and find who did it and then get defensive when they are called out on it. Not to mention rude residents smash into your car during spring break- so good luck getting a rental in San Antonio when there are zero in the whole city. but its no worries for everyone else bc they work 9-5 at menial jobs- ok fine; and then when u finally get a rental n park in a spot for ONE so this first world accident as these people like to phrase it, ( as they dont work overnight, weekends, and in a trauma center), some other friendly neighborhood citizen puts a note on your rental, u had to wait for for 4 days, saying learn how to park .YOU DESERVE TO GET KEYED n office staff thinks ur pissed about the smashed hood of ur 65k car bc theyre not listening. its Principle: putting notes about keying cars is unacceptable. this is san antonio, not nyc-- not worth the $$, view, fire alarms, or having been sexually harassed in the rooftop pool by a non resident grabbing at you acting a fool. great place for people who have not lived in a real city with no clue n think this area is happening but if you come from civilization, value your belongings and sleep, do not waste your time. there are so many other newer updated properties. OH n lest not forget last weekend when i got home from work on a sunday am, there were half full lone star cans on peoples cars in which i took off, especially because i did not want my sweetheart neighbor to have to wake up to such tomfoolery. is this a dorm? or a place for real adults to live? shameful
