Horrible way to start a renting experience. I moved here from New Mexico to start a new job. I was supposed to receive all of the information about the apartment at least 1 week before I moved in. Keep in mind, I paid a security deposit months before. It never came. I finally walk in the door to the rental office, and they send me a lease agreement (at the exact moment that I walked in the door.) The link wouldn't work for the lease, so I was told to come back the next day and fill out a paper lease. She told me that they open at 9am, and to be there at 9:30am. She informed me that the paperwork would take 30 minutes to fill out. I get there at 9:30am, and the woman informs me that we have to hurry because she has a 10am appointment. That's not my problem! She didn't want to show me the apartment before I signed the lease. She rushed me through the walk through of the apartment. She left the move in inspection paperwork in the office, so I couldn't write down the few things that I saw wrong with the apartment in the brief time period that I was in there. She made sure to drive her personal car (they aren't allowed transport people in them.) I understand that. However I was in a moving truck. She could have used the company cart. I had to walk back to the rental office from the apartment. When I finally get there, I had to wait because she was with her 10am appointment. Excuse me?! Wasn't I here first? She finally gets to me, and informs me that my form of payment wasn't acceptable for the first month's rent, and that she had given me the that information in the lease that she had emailed me. The email that was sent yesterday, weeks late...that email? I could have prepared had I received this information weeks ago. She told me she had been off the week before and that's why it wasn't sent. Again, not my fault or problem. If I was from here and had more time to look for a home, I would have left. But since I'm in a rental truck with all of my belongings from New Mexico and a job that starts on Monday, I was in a bind. She was very rude and inpatient. However I will say that the apartment seems nice enough. There are things that need to be fixed, but I will hopefully figure out how to put in a work order. With that being said, as expensive as this apartment is, if they are this rude throughout the year, I definitely will not be renewing the lease.
