Pros:
-PENNY! When we initially moved in to Minnetonka Hills 3 years ago, the staff at the leasing office onsite were WONDERFUL. Penny, Karla and Oisha were essentially the reason we stayed as long as we did. While Karla and Oisha are no longer with Minnetonka Hills, Penny recently returned (just shortly before we moved out). My hope is that with her back on staff, things will take a turn for the better and that the general vibe of the complex will be restored to what it used to be. :) Penny always goes above and beyond to make her tenants happy, and it is very apparent that she cares deeply about the quality of living provided to all.
-The complex is dog friendly in terms of allowing tenants with fur kiddo's to rent there. There is a small dog park available onsite.
-Conveniently located, Close to hwy 169, easy access to grocery stores/gas stations/places to eat etc.
-Lots of beautiful, quite places to walk around nearby!
-While maintenance can only do so much within the restrictions of CSM corporate/what's within budget, they are always responsive and complete work orders in a timely manner. Everyone on the maintenance team that I've interacted with has been friendly & courteous.
Cons:
-CSM corporate is just that, corporate. Many times my maintenance requests were marked off as complete without any work being done/the issue being addressed due to corporate deeming the request "non essential". i.e., we requested that they use dog friendly salt in the winter (they advertise as "dog friendly" after all), and the request was ignored. As was another request to have the dog park re-mulched, after it turned into a mud pit from the snow melting. Hopefully corporate will realize that being a dog friendly complex requires more than just allowing people with pets to rent from them.
-Mold... the carpets in our unit were very old, and if they'd ever been replaced the subflooring/padding underneath was not. Upon prying up a corner, we found a concerning amount of mold in the living room. Hopefully this has been addressed since moving out.
Again- most of the complaints I have boil down to CSM as a corporation, and how they limit the staff onsite in terms of what they can do to keep tenants happy/maintain a welcome living enviroment. But at the end of the day, it was an affordable and for the most part enjoyable place to call home for all of the 3 years we spent there. Hopefully some improvements are made with Penny back on staff now! :)
