La Crosse sits on the border between Minnesota and Wisconsin. The city is home to roughly 51,000 people and serves the purpose of an important center for health care on the western side of Wisconsin. The most important school in the area is the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. This University is home to more than 10,000 students.
