I recently moved from the midwest. Jessica and Erica were so helpful at every turn. When I physically got here the help continued. I've only been here a little more than a week but so far everything has been great. I love how close it is to amenities and it truly is a dog friendly community. I love Keene and all it has to offer. As a working professional and PhD student I have enjoyed the quaintness and quietness of Colony Mill.

Such a beautiful and well-kept building. I miss all of the stores that used to be inside of the Mill but elm City Brew pub is still absolutely amazing and the Keen casino is Right nearby if you're into that sort of entertainment. Overall I give this a five-star review due to the groundskeeping and since I grew up in Keene I'm very nostalgic to the old 'outlet' like shops and food court that used to exist. I bet these make for amazing apartments or office spaces.

Colony Mill in most aspects was a great place to live. The apartments are brand new and beautiful, the community is friendly, and the employees at the front desk are always warm and helpful. The experience was only marred by some greedy decisions made by Brady Sullivan corporate ownership. Both the rent and all other fees are dizzyingly high, and I found it rather dishonest to continue charging us for the amenities during lockdown when none of them were available to residents for the better half of a year. We were also sent a strongly-worded reprimanding letter when my wife's job forced us to relocate halfway through our second year of tenancy, and they would not budge on their exorbitant move-out fee of 3 additional months' rent (over $5000) to "cover their costs" while they "look for new tenants", despite the fact that the move was unavoidable and their extensive waitlist ensures units are snapped up the second they go on the market. All in all, a very nice place to live, if your pockets are deep enough to withstand some distasteful money-grabbing from Brady Sullivan.

I was a renter at Colony Mills, and I wished I had known some things prior to moving in, so this for those who are looking for more details: There is a significant amount of dust in the apartments, most likely due to the mill structure. Winter advisories- when it snows, or is projected to snow, you have to get up very early in the morning to move your car to different lots, even if the snow doesn't come because there wasn't anyone there in the early mornings to manage the "current weather" situation. The communication in the office was often confusing between employees to the renter. You will get different answers to questions or concerns, depending on who you are talking to. Often requests such as asking to book the gym (during COVID) or book the dolly, is forgotten, leaving your plans to have to be unexpectedly re-arranged. The gym situation could be run better as well. We would have to ask every day to use the gym, and sometimes our key fobs would not work, to be let in. It was a very frustrating process, especially when you are paying a high price to live there. There was no compensation to our rent during COVID, where for several months, we were not able to use the amenities on-site (common rooms, theater, gym). Lots of little things along those lines, that over time, add up. I did enjoy the apartment, but very over priced housing.

I made my mind up to move here when I first heard they were going to become apartments almost 2 years ago.As a Keene native, I have seen this building through many transformations , way back to the Douglas Toy and Keene Electric Supply days. The historic apartments here now was the right way to go ! After 32 years of home ownership, I was ready to downsize and be able to walk most everywhere in a very walkable community. An old mill with exposed brick, large window, beautiful floors and a rich history have always been a draw to me. Now actually here enjoying all that, I can also say the staff is doing a great job, are attentive and very helpful when needed. My apartment is bright, quiet, and has everything I need including washer and dryer. I am looking forward to many years here and meeting my new neighbors.
