Apartments Near Jackson State University

Public transportation in Jackson is lackluster compared to what other large U.S. cities offer. There are buses that operate routes during the day from Monday to Saturday, but don’t offer nighttime or Sunday service. This is inconvenient for students, who have inconsistent schedules that fluctuate based on class times, job hours, library study sessions, and parties on the weekend. Unless you live within walking distance of campus or can get a ride with someone, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to live off-campus without a car. Jackson State University offers its students a valuable location in the capital city of Mississippi, which also has the most culture, business, and career potential in the state. This is especially true for students interested in politics; the Mississippi State Capitol is located just two miles east of the school’s campus. Downtown Jackson, and the businesses and culture it contains, is even closer--just a mile east. Transitioning from school at JSU to a job in Jackson isn’t difficult, and if you pick an apartment in a good location, you could live in the same digs throughout college and your post-grad life.
