Apartments are great if you can rule out management. From day one, there was confusion in the way rent was charged to my account. Staff was not able to explain it in a simple way I could understand. I just pay on time what Im suppose to and call it a day. Also utility charges are not even close to the estimated charges they stated before signing the lease.
As of late, any payments online are changed a merchant fee of 2.5%! After six months, this just appeared on my account page. Shouldnt this be part of the cost of doing business!! Stores and restaurants dont seem to be tacking on the charge. So happy to give an additional $20some for Gaslight doesnt go bankrupt. How about not allowing credit card payments? Wed be happy to bring coins to the office.
A work request was submitted online per instructions for the washer and dryer unit in my apartment. After a couple months now, it is still non-functional. NO update messages from the office. I thought I was paying rent to have a washer and dryer in my unit. Instead for a couple months now Ive been schlepping laundry to a laundromat (which is cheaper and cleaner than Gaslights shared laundry facilities. Maybe the 2.5% could be taken off my rent for the inconvenience)
Its really too bad the management appears to be inadequate to handle the number of tenants in a timely manner. Could be a great place to live. Im sure the management will be right on the ball when its time to renew the lease and I choose to go elsewhere.
