Unfortunately, Flint is somewhat notorious as a dangerous place to live. In the past ten years, it has made numerous lists of cities with the highest violent crime rates, and most dangerous cities in the US. In 2010, it was named the most dangerous city in the US by one study, and in 2011, the most violent city in the US by another study. In 2012, Flint ranks second, behind only Camden, New Jersey, in terms of the number of violent crimes per capita. While many efforts have gone to raising money for the police department, it doesn’t seem like these numbers might be changing anytime soon. The motor vehicle theft, arson, and burglary crime rates are also among the highest in the country. When looking for a place to live in Flint, it is imperative to consider the safety of the immediate area. There are many things to do in Flint. The Flint Institute of Arts is a popular museum with children and adults alike, with many special exhibits annually, and special events regularly. Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
