Great community of a diverse group of people. Kimberly was always super helpful and Chris was very informative during our move in. The structure is well built and modern. A bit pricey and pet fees are high, but their are no hidden costs like I have endured at other complexes. It's an excellent location but it can be hard pulling out on Forest Drive during peak hours. Management does things to build community and get residents involved from time to time: holiday parties, wine tastings, and contests

I've lived here for two years now and love it! Apartments are super nice with modern fixtures and amenities and plenty of space. Staff is friendly and extremely helpful and courteous. Community is nice, quiet, and peaceful. The location is prime, having immediate access to anything you could need on a daily basis and just a quick trip to downtown. My only draw was that I lived next to an "aspiring musician" if you could call him that and the walls weren't the thickest but I think that was just my situation so not taking any stars away for that. Overall I love this place and it has been awesome!

My first year here was okay, the location isn't bad and the apartments are in good condition. I re-signed my lease before an unfortunate turnover in management and If I hadn't already, I would no longer be re-signing a lease here. With all the new apartments being built in Columbia my advice would be to explore other options.
A few things to keep in mind if you do choose to consider 5000 Forest:
The walls are so thin you will learn your neighbors' schedules... and you'll know every time they fight.
You'll have no real amenities aka workout room, pool, etc.
Don't expect anything from management, they have no clue what they're doing and have no concrete procedures in place to handle any issues that may arise.
Really the only great thing I have to say is about the maintenance staff. They're very friendly and always take care of things in a timely manner... maybe they should manage the place.
After experiencing the 8th fire alarm this year, I can hereby say it is a risk to sign a lease at these apartments. The front office staff are incompetent...
