When I lived here the plumbing in the sink backed up once a month. The water was brown and cloudy for a few weeks so we had to go out and purchase drinking water. The complex blamed this issue on the City Of Burnsville. We had bugs in all of the kitchen cabinets and they would get into flour and oatmeal if stored anywhere in the kitchen. They lost MANY packages of mine in the office that the mailman left there for me. Someone who works there was definitely stealing them as I spoke directly with the mailman and he said that it was happening to many people. One night the cops came banging on our door with a complaint that we were screaming at each other but we had been sleeping already for a few hours (plus we don't scream at each other) When we moved out we made sure that we gave sufficient notice and even checked the MN state laws. The complex attempted to charge us for the month's rent AFTER we moved out and even took us to court because we refused to pay. The judge ruled in our favor and told us to counter back for our security deposit. We never did receive our deposit even though the inspector said that our place was very good. I was fairly miserable living here and should have moved out sooner.

This place is suppose to be 100% SMOKE FREE building. And it's not!! So many in our building smoke in there apt and the building smells nasty most of the time. Land lords DON'T CARE EITHER. I have been here 5 months and my daughter and i have been sick about every week since I moved in. The smoke was so bad that it smelled under our cupboards and our toilet paper smelled like smoke. My daughter has asthma, but they don't care. They will lie and say they don't smell it because the 2 managers smoke all day long, so they just don't care. And corp. office don't do anything either, except say", You can move out and break your lease then if your not happy, INSTEAD OF FIXING THE PROBLEM. I have found cigarette butts on the hall way floor. There was a fire awhile back because of people smoking, but they don't care about there tenants. Four people in the office, actually 5 now, and nothing gets done! They don't tell u if a package comes, so 2 months later I see her in the laundry room and she says, "oh, you have a package" And when I go get it, it's all tore up. If you lose a laundry card, they say it cost $10 for another one, but a week later another landlord in the office says it's $20 for a laundry card. Parking lot takes forever to get plowed out after a snow storm. And our last snow storm, it took a day and a half to get our side walk shoveled off, so we had to walk thru a foot of snow to get to our car to go to work. Management has gone down hill so bad since the last manager left!! They do not care about their tenants NONE WHAT SO EVER, and the most dishonest people I have ever met. My neighbor found mold in her apt. No elevator in this building!! No attached garage, just a building across the driveway and you pay extra for that. The building only has one layer of paint on it, or it's still the primer. It looks horrible! It's all streaked. When I moved in, I noticed they painted right over the handles of the door, on a lot of them. They don't care! Some one , that woeked here, spilled paint, leaving it drip all the way Down the hallway and they just left it. Like i said THEY DONT CARE! They don't realize it's our home and they don't care!!! Not a good place to rent from, until they get new management!

Awful. they threaten to throw out mail but yet they close their office whenever they want. Not kidding I've had to go pick up my packages from the delivery centers multiple times due to them just not wanting to do their jobs that day, Or get notes from them telling me to pick up my package. *mind you I'm a tradesmen so i start working before they even open and frequently work later than they stay open, so it doesn't help when they just decide not to be open on a weekday once a week** Also be prepared to have rent hiked up on you numerous times sometimes even/up to 300-400$ more than what you were paying, lived here near 5 years now, signed numerous leases with them each time rent getting more expensive and each time them paying for less amenities, and leaving due to the insane increase in price to this dump. ONE AC unit to cool ENTIRE apt with no venting between rooms. Parking is just horrendous and you have to pay extra for a pass to literally park 12ft across the lot from guest. Paper thin walls to the hallway so you hear every screaming kid and every neglected dog barking at the door. You can get a MUCH nicer place that actually gives a F for the same price and if you look hard enough even cheaper than this. Do not. Update: they also tried to charge me rent for the month after I moved out, hadn't been living there , called and tried to get things cleared up and get my security deposit back, they said "we'll have someone call you back" never did. As of now they have stolen my security deposit . Also PLEASE NOTE that almost ALL of the 5 star ratings only have 1 reveiw and it's this dump. 1/29/18 got my security deposit back in full, close to a seven month wait, a few in office visits and a lot of unpleasant phone calls later. Guess I can't be mad at that.

Update as of 8/21/17: we were sent a nonsensical (likely fraudulent) bill for >$500 and have not received our security deposit as required by law as of 5/22/17 rent is being hiked 36% (THIRTY-SIX PERCENT) for month to month and at minimum, 9% for a lease There are better placed across the street that are now even cheaper in comparison to this dump NOW THREATENING TO THROW OUT MAIL IN THE OFFICE, IF YOU HAVE A REAL JOB WITH LONG HOURS YOU ARE BONED Normal mailbox is less than a shoebox, but the USPS idiot won't even try to use it half the time Office can and WILL close early without notice once or more a month Horribly damaged parking lot, some of the holes will knock out your alignment Stone groundwalls are falling apart and pieces are falling onto the driveways Tears up good parking spots to install garages that they can sell back to you for $40/mo+ Cops show up frequently and at least one person started a fire in their unit this year Lots of kids running around without supervision Does not tow parking offenders despite signs Dirty carpets, damaged linoleum floors Cheap, ugly, poorly done paint Poor A/C and heat, NOT CENTRAL Screens in windows still missing after more than a year No longer pays ANY UTILITIES OR SERVICES Two washing machine loads fit in one dryer load and each costs $1.50. So at least $5 to wash a week's worth of clothes. Barely fits large blankets Comcast only for internet and TV services

Moved in, in May and have had backups in our Kitchen sink once a month. Had to get out wall taken out because there was a leak in the pipe. Had loud fans running on our floor for a week straight and the hole was there for 2 weeks straight. They still haven't finished putting our carpet back down. It's been almost a whole month. We asked for a week off our rent and they said they couldn't do it. That's just ridiculous. I pay over 1000 dollars a month to live here and it's not worth it at all.

I lived there more than two years. Do not trying to move there with kids, they are not kids friendly, always complaining about kids walking to laud, or speaking to laud even outside. There is no place for kids to play, you always need to watch out, because there is all of strange people passing by, or weirdly sitting on a parking lot in a van. Apartments is not bad, clean, functional, but you going to have the worst management in a world. I had not one, a had only issues with them. They are totally unprofessional, customer service on a so low level. In my last month of living there they are charged me twice for the rent, to solve this problem I walked in a office every day, manager is never there, they was telling me to schedul an appointment because he is too busy, on a my side i asked them to told him to call me. And he never did. Same situation with a security deposit, they send me a letter with check but i never got it, and they never called me back, I called them, and the lady who works there she always doesn't know anything, all she can do is tell you that is manager is not there, he is going to call you back (but do not count on that). One more big issue is the closed office, if you want to pick up your package, it is always closed, they are going out to eat or what ever, there is no stickers when they are going to came back or reopened, you are just going to walked back and force all day. When i was moving out I insisted that i want move out inspection, because i want my deposit, they did the inspection and told me everything is great, but than i got charged for a fridge cleaning, totally unprofessional. They are going to told one thing than do another. Another thing they are charged me for a couple more days of rent, which we talked through before i was moving out and they told me that's fine we can fixed it, but they are never did and again i was calling thousands of times, and nobody called me back. They are just going to get your money, and than they just don't care.

Lived there for 2 maybe 3 years at most? I minded my own business and kept things peaceful. I have moved out now and they want to charge me rent for this month, when I dont even live there anymore. Even nearing the end of last month, I simply walked in and asked, "Hey, I will be done packing up, is there any paperwork for me to go through?" Literally is there anything I need to do before I leave. Lady just stood there and shrugged me off. Very professional. I really want to move on from this already as I work hard for every dollar and this huge pending transaction in my statement is making my day negative enough. I won't pay it, I have moved out and I am already discussing this with my lawyer too. Thanks.

12/13/2014 (was previously known as Connelly Estates) Lived here from 2000-2003. Management took me to court after I gave my notice and they insisted they required a two month notice whereas a one month is all that is require in a month to month rental. I won and the judge told the person representing Connelly Estates that he wouldn't be surprised if we would counter-sue as we would likely win. I went to my apartment and found they it was occupied in the period they were trying to get rent from me for. Double charging is not "law friendly" in Minnesota. I also had issues with the office during my time here, as our packages ordered online would routinely "get lost in the mail" and upon complaining to the postman, he informed us that he had multiple such complaints (packages were help for pickup in the office.) The office manager at the time was about as friendly as a badger with gout.

This is my frist apartment that I've ever lived in. Everyday Im here Im happy to be living here. this place is amazing! my apartment is beautiful and the customer service they provide is wonderful. Everybody in the office is friendly and willing to help you with whatever you need. The new manager is great! The maintenance staff will go out of their way to make things perfect. I am highly satisfied with my decision of making colonial villa my home.

I have lived in many apartments over the last 13 years and I can say that I have never before experienced such wonderful Customer Service from a renter before. Here are a few reasons why I feel this way: From the very first contact/application Jennifer walked me through the process, returned all of my calls in a timely fashion, and made the whole process seamless. There was a presence: Whether its in the main office, on the grounds, or in the complex itself there are a friendly faces ready to help or assist. It seems that the staff, even after business hours, is ever-present. There is always someone to talk with in the home office. The office staff of Jennifer ,BeBe, and the Property manager Ramsey are far and away the most friendly I have ever had the pleasure renting from. Busy work: Improvement projects were being done daily. They are deeply committed to making the quality of life at Colonial Villa the best for its tenants. In my time there I have witnessed many projects being completed. A new workout room, new roofs and insulation, ongoing pool upgrades, and seemingly daily apartment facelifts. After reading this you may wonder why I havent mentioned the actual apartment itself?! Even if the apartment was less than stellar, the customer service alone would generate a recommendation. BUT, my apartment was perfect. spacious, clean, affordable, and was an excellent place for my family and I to call home. Without a doubt I would recommend Colonial Villa to potential renters. A special thanks again to the wonderful staff Jennifer, BeBe, and Property manager Ramsey for making my family and I feel welcome during our time at Colonial Villa.

This was a terrible place to live, I signed up for a year lease and that was enough for me. The landlords don't care about you or anyone around them. One of the main landlords herself has friends next to my apartment so they party on the patio louder than all hell sometimes till 3 AM so I can't have peace or sleep. Parking is terrible often you don't have a parking spot. You get towed all the time right there on the apartment property, they even had the nerve to tow me on my last day living there, I had to pay 251 dollars, my friends girlfriend who lives here too have been towed 4 times. Tons of loud kids running everywhere including the hallways which have sfat walls and floors so the acoustics are terrible, along with the smell. The CRIME RATE is bad too, squad cars and cops running into apartments is a weekly event, same with cars getting broken into. It's a dump here. It's cheaper but PLEASE reconsider it is not worth paying a little less money. They screw you when you leave too, you have to pay for shampooing the carpets wall painting etc etc. It can cost you hundreds.
