D'Youville College

D’Youville holds terrific real estate in Buffalo, as it’s just three quarters of a mile from the coast of Lake Erie and a mile from downtown. If the weather’s right you can just walk around to where you need to go, but oftentimes in Buffalo that’s not the case. D’Youville’s location also benefits students in regards to public transportation, and you can catch several buses around campus that’ll drive you all around. The nearest rail stations, Summer-Best and Allen/Medical Campus are both only a mile away, and are a better option for some students’ commutes than buses are. Every D’Youville student makes the pilgrimage up to Niagra Falls, and they all enjoy the close proximity of Buffalo’s downtown from campus. Others love to be near the lake’s shores, or to make a drive out of the city to any of northern New York’s state parks. Some students will go watch the city’s beloved Bills football teams, but some would rather immerse themselves in the city’s art scene and visit or contribute to the museums and other creative venues that surround them. Being in an urban environment that’s so close to natural areas is terrific for students, and the only downfall is choosing between them all.

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
