I lived here for two years before graduating and moving away. It was one of the best places I've stayed at in Ann Arbor. The concrete construction keeps the noise from below from travelling for a quiet stay. For an additional amount, you can park under the towers (card gated) which is convenient when it's raining or snowing. If you have seasonal items, there are secure additional storage spaces in the basement. The management and maintenance have quick response rates and every year I've been here they've thrown an appreciation bbq for the residents with raffles and prizes. Also compared to the other Ann Arbor rental locations I've been in, my monthly DTE energy bill came out much lower. The only mild annoyance was that due to the lack of ventilation fans in the kitchen/bathroom, steam and smoke would frequently set off the smoke detector alarm. The public amenities are also nice. There is a convenience store and gym on the same floor as the leasing office.

It was a great place to live. My first year of grad school, I lived elsewhere and the rent was higher and the maintenance staff wasn't nearly as responsive. At Huron, I had an issue with the heater blowing tepid air out and the person came in and fixed it right away and it was really warm after. The staff was always nice and their appreciation bbq was fun. It's set in a beautiful location with great amenities. For the price, it's hard to beat in Ann Arbor.

Just moving in last month and have to say very impressed by the staffs. Everyone is no nice and helpful. The pool is so nice and warm. My apartment was very nice when I move in with brand new carpet. The fridge did not work after a few days but they brought me another one the same day I email Jason. He is a very helpful manager. I reported to Kara in the office today (she is nice too) that I lost expensive socks and Jason brought my socks to my door he said he found in the driveway. This place is awesome!

Still haven't moved out yet, but my wife and I are having to move for work at the end of this month. We have had a wonderful time staying at Huron towers apartments. I've lived in Ann Arbor my whole life, and this place is ideal. I work at the hospital and can be from door to my floor in under 20 minutes walking (saved me big bucks not buying a parking pass for work, and a gorgeous commute through the arb). It's true the apartments are small, but you get a large storage space in the basement, an enormous balcony, and there is so much natural light throughout the day, so it never feels cramped or claustrophobic. I think my favorite thing about Huron towers is that the staff live here, so they are super invested in keeping the place looking beautiful. Maureen keeps up all the gardens around and beautiful potted plants, and Jason and Kim and everyone in the office have been so helpful and responsive to all our questions. One time there was a local pipe that burst because of the cold weather (not Huron towers fault) and they all left their holiday work party early to help out the residents with getting water/answering questions. The pool right next to the river is heaven and they have a long extended season! Laundry was maybe our only issue as you have to go to the basement and it's $1.75 per wash, $1.75 per dry (the driers do fit a lot of clothing though, and work well). They have plenty of them, so we never had an issue with all of the machines being used. We had a non-updated kitchen (no dishwasher, but still looked really nice), which worked well for us, but an update and more kitchen storage would've been nice. But it's great for someone who has pared down their belongings a bit. Appliances and garbage disposal worked wonderfully all year. The convenience store at the base of building B was GREAT for last minute purchases that we forgot at the grocery store, and the woman who works there is so cute (not great English, but so adorable) and wants to have anything stocked in the store that you might need. The Lunch Room restaurant (vegan) is also delicious and we've eaten there a few times. In the winter they were very timely with plowing the parking lot, and you can buy a garage spot for a monthly fee. We only had an issue one time with finding a parking spot. As a whole, it was a great experience with Huron Towers, and I really would live here again. Some residents have been here many years. If you're considering it, I would apply really early to get your apartment preference as it WILL fill quickly for the school year. Good luck apartment searching!

No, i wasn't paid for the following critique The staff and property EARNED this review by their dedication to customer service and overall excellence in property management. Its my 30th year living in Ann Arbor as (past) student and (current) professional. I've lived in a dozen places both rented and owned. The experience at Huron Towers is, by far, the best place I've ever lived. 1. Quiet - The unique construction and materials (thick concrete slab floors and ceilings) afford a level of quiet unparalleled in any communal living. 2. Staff - What can I say. From Kara, Kim and Jason in the rental/manager office to Bobby, Robert, Duff and Steven (to name just a few) in maintenance/facilities this staff ROCKS. Attentive, caring and always willing to help. 3. Amenities - Pool, gym, restaurant, hair salon and convenience store provide all the needed resources to chill out, work out and pig out. A shout out to Cindy in the salon...shes amazing and always willing to help in pinch. 4. Location - Having lived in every quadrant of the City , this location is the easiest to get into and out of Ann Arbor. 5. Parks and Recreation - The Arboretum and Gallop Park is accessed by the quaint bridge over the Huron River. They are "gems" in the heart of Ann Arbor and I am grateful for the proximity (back yard) to Huron Towers. The only real gripe I have is the laundry facilities. The prices are high, the machines are small and the third party who runs the machines don't always maintain them very well. I take my laundry to Mr. Stadium...it s a super cool place to hang out.

I lived at Huron Towers for one year as a graduate student at the University of Michigan in the College of Engineering. During my time at the apartments, I would regularly walk to North Campus and I found it to be manageable. It was nice having an alternative to driving. The area in general felt safe, even in the later hours, when there is adequate lighting for walking between the apartments and North Campus. I found the staff friendly and helpful. I accidentally locked myself out once at odd hours, and was assisted in a timely manner. I liked the view from the balcony, which included the University Hospital and the Arboretum, and it is fascinating during Fall when the leaves change. The kitchen and bathroom appliances worked well. It was convenient to have a place to put trash just down the hall. During the wintertime, the parking garage offered a dry spot and its driveways, from personal experience, were well plowed and salted in times of snow. Overall, I enjoyed my time there, and would recommend that others consider it when viewing apartments near North Campus.

The worst apartment ever. It is cheap, but there are so many reasons for the cheap rent. Most of all, during winter, it is so cold. I think there are cracks on the wall. There is not much temperature difference between room and outside. Heaters don't work properly because they are so old. Also, the office does not take your packages. You will miss every delivery that requires your signature, because delivery guy comes during daytime (you are at school or work) and there is no ring at the door. It is the worst apartment I have ever lived in Ann Arbor. Horrible.

This is the best apartment building I've ever lived in. The management is friendly and helpful all the time. It's clear they take pride in keeping the Huron Towers facilities nice and the tenants happy. Also, I disagree with comments about it being too loud or there being too many undergrads. Of course, most of the tenants are on the young side (it is a college town), but I have never noticed excessive noise. Everyone I have encountered has been respectful.

Recently lived here for my first year in A2 after moving from Chicago. Gotta be one of the best values in Ann Arbor. Rent very reasonable, huge free parking lot, pool in the summer, running trails and river right behind it. Quiet, spacious apartments, convenient small grocery store and great vegan restaurant in the building. Management and leasing staff, especially Caitlin, are super nice and helpful. Highly recommend.

I was an architecture grad student at UMich from 2012-2015 and lucked out with Huron Towers. UNIT AMENITIES I was in a studio apt on the 10th floor overlooking AA and the balcony/view was the most amazing I've ever experienced.Just ask for a unit overlooking A2. Unfortunately, the balcony doesn't have much privacy but the view is well worth it ('new' partitions are not allowed). I come from LA so price is ridiculously cheap in comparison, but a little pricey if compared to other places around A2. Let me just say though if you can afford a couple hundred extra a month on rent, it's totally worth it. Swimming pool on site, Huron river next to pool, bbq and picnic table, Huron trail, parks literally right next to the building. Covered parking was extremely convenient to have. Grocery store and gym also super convenient especially when it's snowing out. Minus the balcony privacy the only other bad thing might be that laundry can get a little expensive 1.75-2 for wash 1.75? for dry. Let me just finish this section with a 'still worth it'. SPACE The unit was spacious for sleep and a large work station, kitchen is a little tight but it's a studio so I understand. I was cohabiting with a partner for a good amount of time in my third year and personally I didn't find it troubling at all. DISTANCE It's also a 10 minute walk (5 minute speed walk) to Taubman. If you're in engineering or music, it'll probably be a 10-15 minute walk (not 100% sure, but basically extremely walkable to north campus). If you work at the VA or Medical area, it's also very walkable. MAINTENANCE and STAFF Problems were fixed instantaneously if I had any. One quick email would get someone up to my place on the same day or latest the next morning. Everyone was super friendly and helpful whenever I had any questions or concerns. There was one person I didn't really see eye to eye with, but I understood he's only trying to keep the place functioning properly and there were never any major issues. They also hold bbq's and meet&greets for the residents and I was able to get free food a couple of times. They really don't have to do it, but the fact that they do showed me how invested they were in creating a family-like atmosphere. NEIGHBORHOOD Very safe area, I've walked late many times times and never had a issue or witnessed anything sketchy. If you want to go to bars it's a bit of a drive, but since i had a car it was no problem. Overall, a great place. If you're looking to go 'undergrad wild' this might not be the place. I had an amazing experience here and I hope people find this review helpful. This place is definitely worth at least checking out.

Out of all the Ann Arbor apartments I have lived in during my college career this has been the best. I cant stress enough the good character and kindheartedness of the staff. They genuinely care about their residents and are quick to help when you need it. This truly made the apartments an enjoyable place to stay. As for the apartment, it was pristine. It was well kept and the new carpet was a plus. The location of the building is also noteworthy. It is just outside Ann Arbor so it escapes the hustle of the city, but its close enough to give a magnificent view of hospital, arboretum and city. It is just a 5 minute walk to north campus which makes it ideal for any Engineering student. It is a quiet place, so it is great for studying. Overall this place was amazing.

Been living at Huron Towers now for nearly three years. This is the best apartment complex I have ever lived in. The manager, Jason, in the office is great. He has helped me out numerous times with issues related to my lease, etc. Maintenance is fast to respond and does a very good job. I feel the $800 a month I pay for my Studio is well worth it. I can walk to the Architecture School in just a few minutes. The Arb is close which is great. I definitely recommend Huron Towers!
